Today’s trust-building exercise: standing approximately eight inches from Olivia’s face while she eats. Apparently, neither the rain nor my complete disregard for her personal space can distract this girl from her snacks.

Today, the Hope Creek family is lifting Nana Trena/Mama Lou up in love and prayer as she faces her long-awaited transplant day. ❤️ May she be surrounded by strength, hope, and healing as she begins this new chapter. Please keep her in your prayers!
Keep fighting, we are all cheering you on!

Last week: “Thistle is probably only 3–4 months along.”

Thistle: “Hold my hay.” 🌾😂

Because apparently she had other plans.

We walked into the pasture today expecting absolutely NOTHING out of the ordinary and instead found… A WHOLE BABY. 🐮😳

SURPRISE! 🎉

It’s a… 🥁🥁🥁

Well… we don’t actually know yet. 😂 We haven’t gotten close enough to check, so for now, we’re taking guesses!

💙 Bull calf or 🩷 heifer?

One thing we DO know: Thistle just earned the award for Best Kept Secret of 2026. 🏆

Apparently “3–4 months pregnant” is more of a suggestion than a timeline around here. 😂

Two weeks apart, and they climbed right into my arms like no time had passed.
Goats may not understand every reason our hearts are heavy, but they always seem to know when we need a little extra love. I’m pretty sure I needed these snuggles every bit as much as they did.

Sorry we have been MIA as of recent. But lately, we’ve been reminded that life can change in an instant.

Some days leave you searching for answers. Others simply leave you searching for a moment to catch your breath.

This pasture has become that place for us.

As the sun settles in the evening and the Highlands quietly go about their day, the noise that has been in our minds seems to slowly fade. And for those few precious moments of a quiet mind, the worry that we have been carrying slowly gives way to gratitude, the chaos gives way to calm, and in that moment we are once again reminded that even in thesedifficult seasons, there is still beauty to be found all around us.

Our cows will never know the comfort that they continue to bring to us during difficult times, but we will and will always be thankful for the peace they quietly offer.

Sometimes there is nothing that we can do except to remember that healing of the mind can begin with nothing more than a quiet field, a gentle breeze, and the simple reminder to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

We want to give a very special welcome to our new girl, Olivia 🤎

There are some cattle that may catch your eye because they’re beautiful.

Then there are others that will catch your eye because of what’s written on paper.

But every once in a while, you get lucky enough to have one come along that is both of those.

We are beyond thrilled to welcome Olivia to the Hope Creek Highlands family. With influential names like Finley Falls, LEA, Skye High, and Ischyros throughout her pedigree, along with her dam, RW Wisteria, a true Scottish import that brings authentic Highland genetics directly from the breed’s homeland, Olivia carries with her generations of exceptional Highland genetics.

But beyond the pedigree and accomplishments, she is simply a beautiful young heifer that we’ve been blessed to now call part of our herd.

We cannot wait to watch her story unfold here at Hope Creek.

Welcome home, sweet girl. 🤎🐂
