The Oregon Trail Days Chili Cookoff might very well be my favorite event of the year.
Who doesn't love eating face-melting chili in the dead of summer? I won't compete cause I'm here to eat!! 😅😅😅
I love that each of the competitors have many different samples to try. And as best as my previous server skills could manage, I still almost burned my wrist trying to balance all of the delicious sample cups on my arm! 💪
The experiments to make sample trays have begun! Eventually I want to use a UV curing resin, but for now I think we will learn as much as we can with this resin set I bought 5 years ago when covid hit... 😉 (it's kinda yellow cause it's kinda old, lots of ink and glitter will be used!)
Also, who doesn't love finding new uses for old contraptions? This nail heater did a fantastic job of removing bubbles! 😍💅

So my car decided to be a jerk a couple of weeks ago and has been in the shop. Because of that our finances were in a holding pattern until we got an official, bottom line price tag on the repairs. For that reason, I will unfortunately not be at the craft fairs this weekend. Next year is for sure a goal! 🤞🤞
In the meantime, I'm devouring these amazing pork nachos from Two Smokin Grills in celebration of getting my car back! Yummy yum!

I'm not done shopping for new labels, but these are at least a minor improvement!
I have a few jars available now, and I'm making another batch this weekend! They are $8 each, or $7 if you trade in a good quality canning jar for me to reuse!

I got a variegated schefflera, a throwback to my first houseplant ever! And how cute is I-Lean??? The volunteers at the Festival of Hope really outdid themselves with these gnomes!
