☀️Did you know you can harvest your aloe leaf now and store away for that 4th of July sunburn?

☀️just slice off that leaf (or in my case two big leaves by falling in a dog hole 🕳️ in my yard carrying my Aloe outdoors for summertime living and breaking them off)……

☀️kind of funny actually since hay mowing season is upon us and the hubby walked in the other day asking if I had any Aloe Vera for his sunburn……

☀️once you cut them drain upside down and let the yellow gunk (aloin) drain out. Then you can either wrap the end up in plastic wrap and store for up to 2 wks or cut open and scrape the aloe into ice trays or like I did my silicone mold and freeze. You can keep in the freezer for 12 months.

🌱 Planting has been in full swing here in Iowa and a much needed treat like the good old days was needed like when Gramma Harre would bring treats out to the boys.

This recipe makes a ‘Monster’ batch so some much needed arm muscles will be needed!

🧊A tip is to keep the dough chilled while making them. I go ahead and make 1/2 and then roll the rest into balls and freeze for a quick treat later on.

🍪 Used my Pampered Chef stackable non stick cooking racks, Large Serving spatula and silicone non stick liner (liner not available). I will 🔗 my website where they can be purchased.

“Eat Local”

Even my birds!

Brrr! The orioles are here and I’m sure they are freezing!

Mr. Oriole has been pretty selective when he appears and very vocal and loud.

Got a quick photo to date the day on Thursday through the curtain sheer.

Have a squirrel terrorizing my feeder cam. Refilled today so I’m sure he will show up again.

I save an old squeeze jelly bottle and mix a bit of warm water with my jelly and then all I have to do is go out and shake it and squeeze into the dish. The mini PC spatula always works great with jelly (wish they would bring it back for sale).

Hubby is out planting again today! Me? What can I get into trouble doing? We will see…..
