Instead of hauling away those piles of wood chips, put your livestock to work! 😂

Chickens, goats, and other livestock scratch, trample, p**p, p*e, and mix everything together. Over time, that combination of wood chips + manure + moisture + microbes breaks down into rich, organic matter you can use to build your garden soil.

It’s basically a homestead composting system powered by animals. 🐓💩🌱

These large glass jars cost about $20 each but you can score them for free. Just ask your local restaurant. Restaurants have foods like olives arrive in jars like these that normally end up in the trash. Give them a new purpose! They are great for food storage, seed storage, growing fodder for your animals, preserving eggs and more!

At one point I had to ask him to stop bringing home buckets because we had so many! Local restaurants have a nonstop flow of three and 5 gallon buckets with lids. So don’t be shy, reach out to your local restaurant and start repurposing them for your homestead today!
