We made it! The puppies survived the first vet visit!

Momma Everest made sure everyone was safe and happy,
Alexandra drove, petted, & even managed to squeak in a tiny nap…
Daddyo played supporter and generous attention doter.
Everyone was happy and healthy … and the puppies had their first time inside a car & a building in their lives.
It was all new to them, as they live outdoors with momma… overall, they like the wide open sky better!

Nature is astounding! Happy egg day!

Dustin and little Luna came to help out and meet the animals at the farm.
They had a great time and Luna (the human) got to meet Luna (the momma Goat) down in the woods, as she cleared out leaves and invasive bushes that were taller than all of us! Wonderful visit. 🥰

The weather doesn’t stop. The feed still needs to be hauled. The animals need care. (Those birds like to eat every single day!)

For small and independent food producers, there’s no pause button… just a constant balancing of land, animals, time, and thin margins.

The stakes are high for small independent food producers.

So is the purpose for rising every morning.

Every meal that comes from a farm like this carries more than food. It carries the decision to keep something real, local, and alive.

More and more, farms and neighborhoods sit side by side.

People move closer to open land because they love what it offers. There’s space, beauty, & connection to something real.
Still, farming continues there too.

It doesn’t always look the same. It doesn’t always sound the same… the point of growth isn’t to erase one for the other.
It’s to understand how both can exist & how to live well - integrated in the land that feeds us all.

Even if your home is surrounded by city streets, we hope you can feel a little of the rhythm that’s here… the animals, the movement, the life and the kind of joy it brings to people who come visit.

Livestock Guardian Dogs aren’t pets in the way most people understand them.
They are working animals, raised to live with the flock and make decisions on their own.

Their job is simple, and constant:
deter predators before harm happens.

No fences can stop everything that wants to investigate.

LGDs fill that gap, instinctively, every day.

There is no such thing as “just checking on the puppies.” Or the baby goats.

You go in for one minute.
You leave - hopefully- 20 minutes later.

Because:
• someone fell asleep in the door
• someone is climbing their siblings or the milk bottle holding standlike a mountain
• someone (everyone)is yelling (loudly) about milk
• and in the midst Everest is calmly supervising the whole operation like a CEO… but she wants a moment too

These pups aren’t just cute. They’re future working dogs being raised to guard livestock, read predators, and hold down the farm. They grew up with their charges. These are their family!

Right now though? They’re tiny chaos marshmallows 💕💕💕
