Missy has traveled many miles riding sh***un. These days, she needs a little help getting in, but she still perks up every time she hears, “It’s time to go!”

Checking fence lines and evaluating pastures are necessary parts of the job—and spotting a cottontail or two makes the trip worthwhile in Missy’s book.

A good dog makes the workday better and the miles more memorable.

This guy is a regular at the “spa.” We’re not sure he’s thought through the whole bathing-in-his-drinking-water situation! 😂

Cattle have personalities, routines, and favorite spots. When you care for them every day, you get to know those little quirks—and that’s part of what makes the job so rewarding.

Hope matters. 🎀

Behind every herd, harvest and family farm are people who mean everything to someone.

This October, Southern Livestock honors those we’ve lost to breast cancer, supports those facing it and celebrates survivors. We also recognize the families, friends and caregivers walking beside them.

In agriculture, we know the value of showing up for one another. Sometimes that means helping with chores, delivering a meal or simply taking time to listen.

Packer grids pay on more than just weight. 🥩 Quality grade, yield grade, and carcass merit all factor into the final price, and two animals at the same live weight can land in very different places on the grid depending on how they finish.

Understanding the grid is foundational to how we manage cattle through the last stretch of the feeding period at Wilroads, because the goal isn't just finishing cattle. It's finishing them in a way that captures every bit of value they're capable of.

🌾 Five generations of farming. Decades of hard work. A family tradition that keeps growing.

From silage harvest in the 1960s to a crop of a lifetime standing tall in 2026, these photos tell part of our family’s farming story.

Behind every harvest are hot afternoons servicing equipment, checking moisture, and preparing the land. There’s patience through dry weather, gratitude for the rain, and pride in seeing the work pay off.

The modern-day office looks a little different—with technology in the tractor cab helping us make the most of every acre. But the care for the land and dedication to the work have carried through five generations.

🚜 Happy National Farmers Day to those who came before us, those working the fields today, and the next generation learning beside us.

Check on the people beside you. Ask how they’re doing—and take time to listen. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength.
