***FARM UPDATE***
Due to some major projects we are currently working on, we will not be opening orders for 2022 on October 1st as originally planned. We will continue to fulfill orders that have already been placed. And we will continue to breed and raise beautiful birds. We hope to be able to offer eggs and chicks again soon. 😊

My Silverudd’s Blues have been tested and every flock member is certified OO (homozygous for the blue egg gene). We are currently one of only four certified flocks in the U.S.

People sometimes discount Swedish Flowers because, “oh, they just lay plain eggs.” Not the case!! Mine lay these stout-shelled, velvety-textured gems colored like peaches n’ cream. And their plumage tops all - so pretty and such variety.

Hi all, we've created this handy, dandy chart so you can now see at a glance what chicks and hatching eggs are available through the end of May. Egg dates are for shipping or pick up, chick dates are for setting (hatch/shipping will be 21 days after setting).

AVAILABLE MARCH 1:
Rainbow Egg Basket Mix - 1 dozen eggs or chicks
Cream Legbars - 1 dozen eggs or chicks
Bielefelders - 1/2 dozen eggs or chicks
Swedish Flowers - 1 dozen eggs or chicks

AVAILABLE MARCH 8:

Wabi Sabi Aquamarines - 1/2 dozen eggs or chicks

It’s 15 degrees here at Wabi Sabi Acres, which is REALLY COLD for Texas! But we’ve got plenty of wild bird entertainment, delicious food to eat, eggs a-incubatin’, coops wrapped and warm, and pipes, too. Anyone recognize those pipe insulating materials? Yep, that’s the stuff we use to pack and ship our hatching eggs! They’ve done a great job so far at keeping our water from freezing in our newly-installed exterior whole-house water filtration system.

The girls are laying! Silverudd’s Blues (green eggs), Swedish Flowers (large, lovely, thick and waxy-shelled tinted eggs), Cream Legbars (blue, aqua and green eggs), Bielefelders (caramel-colored eggs). If you’d like to get fertile hatching eggs or chicks from our organically-fed, rare breed flocks this spring, please place your orders soon. We are currently scheduling for mid/late April shipping or pick up dates.

Color-matched Silverudd’s Blues eggs...late-season eggs from my older hens have faded to some lovely olivine tones while early eggs from Spring-hatched pullets are on the brighter end of the green spectrum.
