ONE DAY ONLY 7:00 PM 9:00 PM
3302 Route 207 in the Barn Gallery
Goshen, New York USA
This one day show expands upon the ongoing exhibit at the Bull Farm 1856 with a private screening of the National Geographic film “Being Rapa Nui” and additional rare rubbings documenting the petroglyphs of Rapa Nui (aka Easter Island)
Most of us are familiar with the Moai of Rapa Nui. they are more widely known as the “big head” statues of Easter Island, but few know of the ancient petroglyphs that dotted this small, remote and culturally significant island in the Pacific ocean. Petroglyphs are prehistoric or ancient images created by carving, scratching, or pecking into a rock surface to expose the lighter-colored stone underneath. Sadly many of the ones represented in this extremely rare collection no longer exist.
Come see a portion of the collection along with the fascinating and beautiful film “Being Rapa Nui” and hear from Susan Hillary how both were made.
Doors open at 7, screening begins at 8. There is no charge for this event.
Cash bar and light refreshments will be served.
