They came from a breeding pen with a rooster was a reserve champion continental from the Delaware State Fair.

Thanks for the prayers for my dad, “The Chicken Tender.” He will be needing surgery next week. On the plus side, Rodel Rianzares is visiting from the Philippines to take care of him for two weeks.

Thr MRI results showed all 5 hamstring tendons are completely torn and retracted 3.2 cm off the bone. There is a large hematoma (pool of blood) around the injury pressing down the sciatic nerve along witn considerable blood through the musculature.
His thigh adductor tendon also was torn but at least it’s still connected to
the bone 🤷‍♀️ so there’s a win?

He did have some Right hip joint abnormalities, which may be pathological stuff to be worked up in the future but pushed to background until this injury is healed.

And he did tell me he’s not ending his water skiing career on this…. So no, he def hasn’t learned his lesson yet 😑

I had the pleasure of meeting Laura from Happy peeps & sheep this weekend! It was such a blessing to connect with someone else in this hobby and enjoy the product of her hard work and creativity in breeding silkies!
I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea but we love these babies! Chickie momma was gasping with excitement (I doubt there’s a chicken she wouldn’t love 🤣).
The rooster is the sweetest, comes right up to me when I walk over, puts his wings to the side for pets. He’s tried the most adorable baby crow, hopefully I can get it on camera. The girl just loves to snuggle in.

I attached the genetics of naked necks to this post too. We have two bow tie naked necks, and the possibilities are endless!

I am so excited!!!!! We welcomed a pair of mottled naked neck silkie chicks to the flock! They are so so sweet and snuggly!!!! Names to be announced soon. Feel free to drop your ideas below, no name is too crazy 🤪

The Chicks seem to have formed their own FIGHT CLUB in the brooder

We’d appreciate prayers for my dad (the Chicken Tender). He hurt his leg trying to water ski this week. He normally wakeboards but thought it would be fun to try water skiing again 🙄
He is 73 with the mindset of someone in their 20s. We’re pretty sure it’s a torn hamstring up high with hematoma pressing on a nerve causing severe sciatica. He’s fairly immobile at the moment.
Hopefully they’ll schedule the MRI soon.

And yes… he’s old. He can call me chipmunk cheeks, and I can call him old 😂

Maybe we’ll post a video of him wakeboarding from earlier this summer.
