A Gathering Basket Trailer
Some of y’all know or have noticed we haven’t been at the farmers market but figured it was time to share that we are on a bit of a hiatus!
This past year has been wild and so busy, we have dedicated so much time to cooking and catering! Though we love cooking our foods and getting to share it with people especially at the @fultonstmarket , we are pretty burnt out on it. We have been taking some time to step back and re evaluate what is best for us, our family, and our dreams.
We’ve been thinking back to our dream earlier this year, where our heart lies, which is growing food and medicine. Thankfully we scored a nice plot from @new.city.neighbors.farm we are growing on for this season! It has reminded us just how much we long to be in the soil!
Doors have been opening for us lately to really pursue this path. Cam is returning to school at GVSU to study environmental sustainability and agriculture, I (Cass) have been invited to incubate on @beaversfarm_ next season, and there is beautiful growth happening with the Seeding Reclamation Coalition brought together by @west_mi_youngfarmers which is aiming to fundraise for local bipoc growers to have LAND. More on that eventually as we keep growing into ourselves and developing our goals as our own group. Check out @west_mi_youngfarmers for the gofundme tho in the meantime!
It is pure magic gathering with other people who have had the same dreams as us, the most divine timing!
All this to say… thank you everyone for supporting us and buying our food. Don’t hesitate to reach out for catering, we are still open to it but will be very selective with what we do. This fall will be focused on all of our education and communal + familial care.
Side note go check out @vibeswiththetribes this weekend in Detroit. We’ll be cooking with some other good friends for the team and performers ❤️❤️❤️❤️

LONG POST WARNING: We haven’t shared this yet because holy cow, life/summer has been BUSY and we are only 2 ppl, but we recently were invited to have a 20 x 20 plot over at @new.city.neighbors.farm !
We originally were dreaming pretty big before, wanted a whole farm, AND WE STILL DO. But this is a great starting point for us surrounded by some really great people. Shoutout to Ayanfe, ayyyyyy 🥳
First picture is of the corn we planted. Hopi blue corn from @flora.pacha , cass received seeds from them from supporting their queer land project! (Go check out their profile and patreon btw bc it kicks ass)
Second picture are the corn sprouts coming up after rain 🥺
Third picture is what the plot looked like before weeding
Fourth picture is of us weeding the heck out of the plot lol
Fifth picture is our oldest loving being out on a farm and helping us check out the corn mounds 🥺
Last picture is of our corn sprouts as of today!
Social media hasn’t really been our priority because most days, we are just trying to exist as a family but we also want to be transparent because so many of you are here after supporting our gofundme!
What’s been really taking up our time + devotion is @auntieshousegr . Everything we dreamed of wanting to do initially through 13 Moons such as youth programs + community events, has been really moved over to Aunties House. We admire @auntie_sarah49 so so much and her devotion to her community and we feel extremely lucky to work with her. She is our friend and our auntie! If you back us, please go back @auntieshousegr ! We are all in this together.
