I always loved Thanksgiving at Oma’s. It was always just a few days before my birthday and all the cousins, aunts and uncles would be there and there were always piragi, a Latvian torte and other delicious holiday foods. So today, of course, I had to make piragi-even though COVID prevents us from gathering. The big smiler is Oma letting me know she’s with me and that she is happy I keep the gift of her amazing cooking alive! Miss you, little beauty.
