This girl has a little extra character with her uniquely crooked nose, but don’t let that make you pass her by! Her genetics point to phenomenal milk production, and honestly, we’re still not completely sure we want to let her go.

Jolene is a calm, been-there-done-that kind of girl. You can actually see her come ask for love in my video of Tessa 173. She was used as a nurse cow during her last lactation but could also make a wonderful family milk cow. Don’t overlook her because of her age, she is an absolute sweetheart and has no history of requiring treatment for ketosis or milk fever. She would be a great calf raiser for you.

Bred to a Hereford bull

Miss Laney was originally purchased through Morgan Cattle Company as a bred heifer. Due to changes in her owner’s circumstances, we are now helping find her a new home.

She did very well during her first lactation and produced more milk than her calf could use. Because her owner was working long shifts and didn’t have time to milk, she brought home a second calf from a local dairy. Laney readily accepted it and successfully raised both calves!

She has not been hand-milked by her current owner, so we cannot provide an exact production amount or speak to her milking manners. However, her ability to produce enough milk to raise two calves during her first lactation makes her a promising family-cow or nurse-cow prospect.

Miss Laney is calm, allows her owner to pet her, has worn a halter, and will follow a feed bucket just about anywhere. She also loads well in a trailer.

Her current owner prefers a more natural, minimal-intervention approach to herd management. Laney has not received any additional vaccinations since being purchased, and her owner has used herbal supplements as part of her parasite-management routine. Buyers are welcome to continue that approach or establish their own vaccination and deworming program with their veterinarian.

She originally came from the same licensed raw-milk dairy as many of the cows we have previously offered. At the time she was purchased, she came from a herd tested annually for TB and Brucellosis as required by the State of Texas. Laney is now privately owned, located offsite, and being listed on behalf of her current owner.
