🌱 Meet Lodi Squash! 🎃

We’re trying something NEW at Finding Ground Farm! 👀

This little beauty is **Lodi Squash**, an open-pollinated variety from Row 7 Seeds—and if you love sweet, creamy winter squash, I have a feeling this one is going to be GOOD. 😍

Lodi is related to the beloved Koginut squash and is known for its deep flavor, concentrated sweetness, and velvety texture. The fruits are small—about ½ pound—making them pretty much the perfect little squash for roasting up for dinner. 🧡

And here's the really cool part…

🍂 **The squash tells us when it's ready!**
It starts out green and naturally turns a beautiful bronze color on the vine as it ripens.

And honestly? **We also LOVE them as table decor!** 😍🍂 As we head into the *ber months*, these little bronze beauties are just begging to be tucked into a centerpiece, piled in a bowl, or scattered around the table for that cozy fall feeling.

We’re growing it this season because we LOVE trying unique varieties that you don't always find at the grocery store. Part of the fun of growing food is discovering something new and then getting to share it with our community. 🥰

A little life update from Finding Ground Farm. 💛

Today is surgery day ♥️ it’s been such a whirlwind of appointments and tests up till this point and I am so ready for this next step.
Cancer was not in the 2026 plan but we’re feeling incredibly hopeful. I’m grateful that it was found when it was, thankful for an amazing medical team, and encouraged to have a clear treatment plan in place. We know the road ahead will include healing and recovery, but I have an amazing team of support and for that I am incredibly thankful!

If you’ve sent me a message recently and I haven’t responded, please know I haven’t forgotten about you. These last few weeks have been filled with appointments, phone calls, and coordinating everything before surgery. I promise I’ll get back to you as soon as I’m able.

Because of surgery, there will be a brief pause in markets, Farm Box pickups, and some other farm activities while I recover. As hard as it is to step away, I know that taking care of my health now is what will allow me to continue doing what I love for many years to come.

One of the reasons I named this place Finding Ground Farm is because life has a way of shifting beneath our feet. Sometimes finding ground looks like planting seeds. Sometimes it looks like building something new. And sometimes it looks like allowing yourself to rest, heal, and trust that growth is still happening, even when you can’t see it.

I’m looking forward to getting back into the fields, seeing you at the markets again, and sharing this next chapter with all of you. Until then, thank you for your patience, your prayers, and for giving me the time and space to heal.
