PSA for the day…dump out bags of feed into another container before feeding!!! This bag looked perfect when I opened it until moldy pellets started showing up halfway through. The bottom was solid mold!

Love getting updates on Onyx’s babies from Royal Legacy Rabbits. Foster moms are feeding them well and even the runt is growing!

Input from breeders needed! Every doe, beside Onyx, to deliver since mid-August has had stalled labor and delivered a single dead kit 2-6 days overdue. We are currently waiting on a first timer to deliver and she was due Sunday. We feed Kent Show Hutch and orchard grass hay and haven’t changed anything in the feed or housing. Since it’s now 5 does, there’s definitely something going on. Maybe nutrition? Any ideas?

It’s been quite the emotional month. Stella is heartbroken with the sudden loss of her sweet Onyx yesterday. She was the sweetest doe always looking for snuggles. Unfortunately she pr*****ed after giving birth and the vet wasn’t able to save her. This loss follows a month of failed litters and the loss of Rose Meadow Buck, the 2026 HLRSC National winning SSB. There’s definitely an empty feeling in the barn right now, but so thankful to Holland Lops, Californian & AFL for fostering Onyx’s babies.
