There's a down side to incubating and hatching eggs yourself that many don't talk about.. Simple enough, but regulating temps and humidity can get tricky, especially when a late season cold storm came in this past wknd. It's tough (even after doing this for 9 yrs) to hear or see signs of life and then nothing. However, I have to refill with more duck eggs and try again.

From chicks to layer hens, fertile eggs for incubating or eggs for eating. We enjoy it all each spring and it keeps us busy. These are the new hatches from this past wknd. So far healthy, cute and probably a only a couple of roos. A few of last year's chicks found a new home as well. Love this time of yr!
