Look at these fun PINK eggs one of the girls is laying! Fun fact: she also lays the brown speckled eggs in this photo. The heavy bloom coating produced by the hen causes the eggs to appear pink. Heavy bloom producing hens are highly sought after for those breeding for fun colored eggs, such as pink. Some hens will produce a heavier bloom when the humidity is higher or as storms move in.
This layer has always been one of my favorites. She is sold and will be going to her new home later this week. She will be missed but her new family is very excited for her!
