We have big plans with these babies. The beginning of what we hope will be a beautiful breeding stock of registered durocs and some pasture raised Duroc meat. We are already loving their personalities and growth despite two of them being so small they’re starting to catch up!

Gone are the days of cheap pigs. And honestly, that’s not a bad thing. Good pigs shouldn’t be cheap, but they also shouldn’t be out of reach.
Our pigs aren’t the lard-type hogs bred to pack on fat. We raise large-framed, growth-efficient, well-muscled hogs with genetics selected for:

• Frame size
• Structural correctness
• Muscle development
• Feed efficiency
• Carcass quality

These traits don’t come from “whatever boar was handy.” They come from intentional breeding, maintaining good sows, and investing in the right lines. Good genetics cost money because they produce hogs that actually finish right.
Feed is one of the biggest expenses in hog production, and good feed isn’t cheap!!! You can’t raise quality pigs on bargain-bin feed.
Parasite control, clean farrowing areas, proper weaning, and stress reduction all cost money. We raise pigs that are healthy, sturdy, and ready to grow, not pigs that leave buyers dealing with problems later.
Farrowing setups, pens, fencing, feeders, water systems, none of it is free. Good pigs come from good environments, and that investment shows in the quality of the animals.
Good pigs shouldn’t be cheap.
But they also shouldn’t be out of reach. We price fairly for the work behind them, accessible to families, 4‑H kids, and anyone who wants pork that actually tastes like pork 🩷

Rooting is an instinctive behavior for pigs. It’s how they forage, gain minerals and get to know the land they’re on. If pigs are born in the concrete jungle of large scale pig farms they’re given iron injections right after birth. Why? Because those babies aren’t gonna gain the iron from the dirt cause there isn’t any dirt.

Hey yall! I’m pulling the bacon from our list. We tried it today and were greatly disappointed in how it turned out. There is no salt whatsoever in this bacon. We will be reaching out to the processor in hopes of remedying the situation.

Our recent piglets were sired by So High School from Shipley Swine Genetics and so far we are very happy with their temperament. We used them for our last round of piglets with a different sire Semi. These girls are going to make us some beautiful babies in the future and some amazing food for our community from the boys.
