💙Raising chickens, ducks, turkeys is a LOT of work. Selling fresh eggs that have never been cleaned with chemicals, refrigerated and shipped is another job in itself. If you buy eggs from Owen’s business, you’re not only supporting a young hardworking farmer who truly does the work himself, but you’re teaching him what it means to be rewarded for hard work. Here’s the truth, does a $4 / dozen sale pay for feed? NOT EVEN CLOSE. But we’re not here to price gouge and teach him negative customer service. And we expect the same in return. It’s a learning experience for him. We created this to allow him to learn how to handle money, interact with KIND customers and what it means to go to the toy store and only have $10 for a toy he wants that’s $15. It’s life. And with every sale, he is learning.
Bottom line is, he is 4 (almost 5) and LOVES caring for these chickens. He does it himself (most days) without being asked.
