Stevie went to the vet today! Huge shoutout to All Creatures Veterinary Hospital for being so amazing with my sweet boy.

Unfortunately, we had to tell Stevie that he’s legally blind and will not be allowed to drive 😔. We did get some eye drops because he also has an eye infection, but we think Stevie’s vision is about 10% we’re guessing.

We love our boy regardless and will do whatever we need to in order to keep him comfortable 🥰 he gave me happy chirps the entire drive, so I know he was thankful!

I also decided to make him a vet appointment to have his eyes looked at. I just love this turkey 🥰

Stevie our blind turkey relaxed in my lap while we helped him eat some delicious local blueberries that we picked from Heritage Hill Banquets.

Just listen to those happy chirps ♥️ he has such a sweet little soul despite having such a difficult time seeing.

I thought about taking him to a vet to see about eye drops or something… has anyone ever dealt with something like this before?

NC friends!

If you haven’t been to The Farm Stand Mercantile & Grocery and Heritage Hill Banquets - you need to check them out! The Farm Stand has an amazing selection of NC made goodies, local beef, milk and more.

Heritage Hill has blueberry picking for just a little bit longer and their blueberries are TO DIE FOR. Not only will you not get the diarrhea parasite (lol) but they are only $3 per POUND. They taste like little pops of blueberry candy.

Make sure to check hours before you go, but both are worth the drive!

RIP Hershey - the greatest chicken there ever was 😔

All chicken keepers have that one heart chicken they breed. Hershey was mine.

She would always run to me wherever I was to be picked up and held for hours so she could nap in your arms.

She constantly came in my house looking for snacks and snuggles.

She loved talking to you and always had so much to say.

And she LOVED when I helped her take a dust bath and buried her under the dirt.

The worst part is - she hasn’t laid for me in a long time, so I wasn’t even able to hatch babies from her. If any of my friends has a chicken related to Hershey, treasure that soul.

I’m happy she’s no longer in pain, but my yard will truly never be the same. I’m truly devastated.

Why is it whenever you hatch eggs for someone else, the chicks are always better than what you hatch for yourself? 🤣Yall...
