Found a couple weak/dead hives at the end of the season. First experience for us with wax moths. These moths will invade a week hive and lay eggs in lesser used frames in the hive. They feed off the beeswax and make a mess of everything. These frames are getting replaced as they are no longer acceptable for use. The bees do a good job of cleaning up and pushing out smaller infestation, but with a weak hive these pests will take over.

New Hay!!

Upgraded the feeder and waterer for the chickens. Went with all stainless steel ni***es because the plastic ones kept leaking. Also set it up to have a heater in so that they can drink water instead of lick ice through the winter!

Bringing new hay to these ladies is like working Walmart on Black Friday. They push and jump because they dont want the other to have the best spot.
