Here is a short clip of some last-minute improvements on ground we picked for this farming season! The video of the dozer is from Sunday afternoon, and today we planted this field to corn to finish up our 2026 planting season at C Jordan Farms! 🌽

Owner Cameron Jordan takes tremendous pride in every acre! As this year has been challenging with all the rain, we are very blessed to be done!

We just need a little ā˜€ļø to dry up the ground and off to the races. Today we started with servicing, greasing, and checking everything over before heading to Bartholomew County near Clifty Creek Golf Course to finish up corn 🌽 for my father Philip Jordan 🌽. We had a good start to corn planting last week getting some of my father’s and my own corn planted before getting some much-needed rain yesterday. After we plant this farm, we will only have one farm in Decatur and one farm in Jennings left for corn which will finish us up for plant 2k26.

Fun fact: the liquid 2x2 fertilizer system on our planter applies fertilizer roughly 2 inches beside the corn row and 2 inches deep. Our 2x2 mixture includes liquid 28% nitrogen, thio which is Ammonium Thiosulfate, and 10-34-0. Applying this with the planter helps give the corn plant the best start to life. The mixture will also help maintain the corn plants’ health until the roots reaches the pre-plant anhydrous ammonia which will fulfill the remaining nitrogen needs of the corn plant to reach maximum yield.

What a start to the 2026 planting season! The last 8 days were busy to say the least, but all of our soybeans are in the ground and we are down to the last farm of pre plant anhydrous for corn🌽. We hope to be planting corn after this cold front moves through. 🌽 We were fortunate enough to work all of bean ground with the mcfarlane incite before planting to help warm up the ground, prepare the seedbed and continue help the residue break down! 🚜 We completely retrofitted our 1795 John Deere with precision planting parts thanks to Todd Mauer and the rest of Blackhawk Precision Ag in Greensburg to ensure are soybean and corn seeds are placed very precisely and accurately to give us the best chance of maximum yield!

We are also variable rating all fertilizer and seed this year thanks to Advanced Agrilytics who continue to help us maximize our yields! Our 1795 planter will be used to plant both our corn and soybeans.

As all of our implements beside our DMI cultivator this season are new to us, as my father Philip Jordan and myself (C Jordan Farms) are now farming together following the family farm dissolving and each of Philip’s brother farming on there own now. So with anything used and new to an operation, we had a few snags this week. It did involve a few long nights, a lot of heating šŸ”„ and pure šŸ’ŖšŸ¼ strength to help loosen up some siezed chopper and wheel bearing shafts on the incite! Owner Cameron Jordan averaged about 4 hours of sleep a night but with long nights comes big rewards as we got done around 5am just before the rain moved in Saturday morning with out soybeans!

A huge thank you to everyone who lended a hand this week to help get it done!! Whether it was a few guys from Jordan Excavating LLC staying late to help out, Cameron’s wife Emma Jordan helping move equipment, Jacob Elliot and Jermy Paetzel running equipment or wrenching. It takes a team effort to make dreams into reality!! Also a huge THANK YOU to our landlords who without them, farming for us would not be possible! We are excited to move onto corn and get it all planted in a timely efficient manner!

Well, this deal had been in the works for a minute, but Friday evening we were finally able to bring everything home. We were lucky enough, through a few business associates, to hear about 2 older gentlemen about 70 miles away who were retiring, and we were able to make a deal on their whole harvesting fleet!

We sure are ready for fall now! We did have a small tire blowout on the corn header trailer about a mile from the shop, but we threw the corn head on the combine and back on the road to the shop we went! We hope to get the combine washed tomorrow before it goes into summer storage.

Let’s just say owner Cameron Jordan, his father Philip Jordan, were smiling ear to ear! We also know Lynn Jordan, Philip’s father, Cameron’s grandfather who passed away in 2007 is smiling ear to ear looking down on father and son carrying on the farming tradition!

The weather has been questionable at best, but we have been utilizing every day we can. We were very fortunate to be able to add acres and work with some new landlords for the 2026 season!

We have been full bore all winter cleaning up field edges, clearing areas of overgrowth, fixing washouts, marking and fixing tile holes, and installing a few short tile runs. Spring is fast approaching, which means so is PLANT2k26!

Well Christmas came early for my dad and I today. We purchased this planter roughly a month ago in northern Ohio and it finally showed up today! This new to us John Deere 1795 16/32 will plant both our 15ā€ soybeans and 30ā€ corn while also applying 2x2 nitrogen on our corn rows. The nitrogen discs can be raised while planting beans to prevent wear as well.

Due to the precision planting technology we will be installing on this planter. We can actually be more efficient with 1 planter for both crops. This will also allow my dad to tend me full-time with seed and fertilize and not be worried about a second planter and tractor.
