We are counting down the days to our FIRST SOURDOUGH DEMONSTRATION, which will be on Saturday, June 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Johnston's Farmers' Market in Monticello, Florida, under our Half Acre Wood tent!

We will be showing you how to feed and care for your starter, and will have both ACTIVE starters and DEHYDRATED starters available for purchase, if you're ready to take the leap!

We will then be teaching you how to make our Mopsy Bread, our white rustic sourdough loaf! This loaf is made with four simple ingredients, with no stand mixer, and no special proving bowls!

The demonstration is free to all who want to attend! Come see what this sourdough business is all about!

A few weeks ago, our sourdough starter went on strike. It just wasn't rising as fast, taking up to 8-10 hours to really become active after feeding. For a small-scale at-home sourdough baker, this is detrimental to our strict proving timetable that we implement on baking days! 🍞

Our mother starter, who we call Maryann, was not feeling her best, and we knew just what to do to help her!

First, we fed her with a tablespoon of freshly milled wheat flour on top of our regular feeding. Why? Because freshly milled flour has nutrient-rich germ that hasn't been filtered out, and is packed with vitamins, minerals, lipids and enzymes that our starter microbes (and yours!) love to eat! 💪

Next, we returned to our normal bread flour, and put her on a strict 12-hour feeding schedule for 3 days. Every 12 hours, we discarded half of our starter, and fed her with 60 grams of flour and 60 grams of water. Stir well.

After 3-days, we maintained a 24-hour eating feeding rotation, with another 60 grams of flour and 60 grams of water at each feeding.

Here is a picture of Maryann today. The first picture is right after her feeding, and the second picture is 4 hours after feeding! Back to her beautiful bountiful bubbly glory! Welcome back Maryann!

Want to know more? Come to our first SOURDOUGH DEMONSTRATION on Saturday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Johnston's Farmers' Market in Monticello, Florida. We will be under our Half Acre Wood tent, excited to answer all your questions! 🥰

What does our dehydrated sourdough starter and Sourdough Starter Booklet look like?

Let us show you!

We created our Sourdough Starter Booklet as a holiday item last year, and it did wonderfully! We then pulled it from our inventory since we were working on other exciting things, and we weren't fully committing to selling our starter yet.

Now that we are getting into SOURDOUGH CLASSES, we are bringing our dehydrated starter back! This comes as a package, with a bag of our dehydrated starter, and the booklet which teaches you how to rehydrate it, care for it, and then use it in our White Sandwich Loaf recipe!

This starter kit is great for those of you who want to get started, but are afraid to fully commit just yet! The starter is shelf stable, while an active starter will require your attention within 24 hours!

We will have our dehydrated starter AND our active starter available at our FIRST SOURDOUGH DEMONSTRATION on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnston's Farmers' Market in Monticello, Florida! Hope to see you there!

We brought our beautiful Mal home today! Our last goat purchased to complete our herd before we breed our own kids.

Mal is our buck's, Fischer FF V Red Runway's, daughter. These pictures were taken a year and a half apart.

The first picture was taken with Red while driving him to Goat House Farm Inc where he would stay for 11 months (before we bought our own farm), when we were only dreaming of what a doeling out of him would look like.

And the second picture was taken today, when we brought home our sweet MH-GHF Maleficent ("Mal"), his daughter out of 3 Lee's Teela the Sorcerer, home from the same farm of our dear friend.

I love this line, for more reasons than I can count!

I put this boy on the scale this evening (I was weighing a different goat and he came along), and I had to put him back on the scale when I went to record it. He weighs how much!?

I realized I never did an introduction post for our newest buckling, even though he has been in several of our photos. This stunner is INB Acres TRM Captain Hook, or "Captain" (and most of the time, "Cap"), and we can not believe we have this buck on our farm! His sire is Woest-Hoeve TC Trmpet 90EEE (picture credit to INB Acres), and you’d be hard pressed to find a more impressive buck. He has the heavy production lines, the width, the dairyness, the depth, the shoulder and the front end strength, the topline. Do I need to go on?

We knew about Trmpet ever since we saw him at Goats in Gatorland in spring of 2025, but when we saw that he has been bred to J&M Hideaway Bella Valentina 91VEEE (picture credit to Maria Phillips and INB Acres) and had produced a keeper doeling for INB Acres and a buckling, we couldn’t resist reaching out about Captain! We have big plans for this boy. He is going to kick our herd into the next level!

Captain is only 4 months old, and is already following in his dad’s 350-pound footsteps at a whopping 69 pounds! And who doesn’t love a few moonspots? 😍😍😍

I’m still mad though.
