If you haven’t shopped with Amanda at The Painted Nest before, you’re missing out!

I have known her since they opened 10 years ago when her hubby refinished my farmhouse dining chairs and I bought a few pieces for our (new that year) house with my almost one year old in tow.

((Sidebar — my newborn baby Jasper will be 10 in August and my mama heart is overjoyed to see who he is becoming. But also, how do I have a 10 year old and why do they have to grow up so fast?!?!))

I’ve found so many precious treasures at this gem of a shop over the years and am thrilled to be back there this year with more pop ups throughout the summer and early fall!

We will have a curated collection of found antique vessels to choose from and I will help you build a beautiful custom arrangement with fresh local flowers from my farm! Or swing through and grab a premade bouquet or bud vase.

Amanda will also have some premade real touch faux floral arrangements, and let me tell you that as a fresh flower girlie who has always hated faux, these real touch flowers are straight stunners! I’ll be shopping for one myself!

We’re going to have a fun evening of shopping, flowers, and fellowship!

I spent yesterday morning garden shopping with my sweet friend. Here’s just half of the haul, and let me tell you — this doesn’t even show just how gorgeous these flowers are!

I’m excited to plant these tomorrow for a special little garden that is close to my heart. I’m not sure if I’ll post the final result or much more about it, just because it’s a Spirit-led project that has taken a small village and it’s not about me or my farm. I simply love the beauty of all of God’s creation, and having the honor to be a small part of the Spirit’s work.

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the massive eucalyptus tree at Collier's Greenhouse & Garden Center… wouldn’t you love to have one of these in your landscaping?

I delivered this bereavement bouquet yesterday.It’s always a little bittersweet sending my babies out, but knowing they will bring a glimmer of joy in a time of grief makes my heart so happy. Flowers aren’t meant to last forever, they’re meant to spark joy for a fleeting moment before they’re gone. (I mean, my bouquets do last at least a week in a vase, but in the grand scheme things that’s not long at all.)Flowers can bring beauty and comfort, and point us back to God’s word — which does endure forever. The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8

I feel so honored that a sweet friend thought of me to make this bereavement bouquet for another sister from church.

Every order means the world to me, and I pray this one brings a little bit of comfort in a time of mourning.

Aside from the peonies, everything is grown right here on the farm.

My old wood hydrangeas that were here when we bought this property in 2017 are blooming again this year after a hard prune and no blooms last year, and I’m so thankful to witness the glory of His creation.
