Support your local theatre. 👏🏼 My mom got us a season pass to Little Theatre Off Broadway and tonight was our first visit. It was so incredible.

They are currently performing The Wedding Singer which I’ve actually never seen. 🫪 I just knew it would be funny and Adam Sandler was in the movie. It was GREAT.

The performers were all wonderful and clearly so excited to be up on the stage together. I’m just forever impressed with musicians, actors, etc. Their skills bring such joy. 🙏🏻

The theatre does have some candy and drinks but I’d bring along some extra snacks if you need them or get dinner at Blu Willys beforehand!

They also do a cutie 50/50 raffle during halftime which you should for sure enter not only to win but also because this theatre is all volunteer-run.

Ticket info ➡️ Individual tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for Seniors/Students and $15 for all seats on “Thrifty Thursdays.”

Showtimes ➡️ August 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, and 23. Start times vary from 7:30, 8, and 3!

While the Ohio State Fair is inherently local, why not go one step further? Visit the beloved Sweet Carrot Catering this week! 🥕

One of my absolute favorite Columbus restaurants is back for a limited time serving up their famous chicken meatballs, corn cakes, mac ‘n’ cheese, and so much more. You can find them in the brand new Ohio Showcase building and seriously, you have to make a pit stop here.

We got a little bit of everything because I love everything on their menu. But, the fan (or should I say fair?) favorite is absolutely the mac ‘n’ cheese. It’s truly addicting AND you can add a scoop to any meal for just $3!

We spent $60 at the Ohio State Fair (if my math is right) on snacks, drinks, and a carousel ride!

None of these things are required purchases and if we packed snacks or had our meals at home, we wouldn’t have spent really anything! There are so many completely free (with admission) activities that are a blast for the whole family.

A final vacay dump. 🏝️

The Currituck maritime museum was awesome. Located in Corolla Historical Park - this little museum is free and full of fascinating local history.

I love to learn the lore of the towns we visit and Outer Banks has incredible history. The northern part of the island was home to many many prestigious gun / shooting clubs.

It’s fascinating to learn the history but also visualize a much different place just a hundred years ago.

Within walking distance of the museum and the lighthouse is Corolla Island BBQ. Very very delish.

This absolutely amazing home is known as Whalehead and is a renovated 1920s art nouveau style residence. We couldn’t take any pictures inside but safe to say I want to decorate my entire house like this now.

The husband and wife who owned the home also seemed like very fascinating people who cared for others and animals. It was so cool to walk through the same doors where they lived roughly 100 years ago.

Tours are $5-$7 and worth it.

Is it a beach vacation without mini golf? But, also why is it so expensive. 🫨

Hate the name of this place, LOVEEE the treats.

Doesn’t everyone stop at historical battlefields on their way home?

The Fort Necessity National Historic Battlefield indoor area was so well done.

This is the battlefield where George Washington loses (!!) his first battle. As referenced in “History Has Its Eyes On You” in Hamilton. Olivia did not appreciate when I started singing it. 🎶
