Welcome to the 36th annual Cape Cod Hunter Horse Show Series. 2014 has started off with atypical weather, but typical New England, wait a minute it will change, snow snow snow! I hope winter ends quickly and everyone can start getting his or her horses out and competing. We have again made some changes to our shows for 2014. We are very excited to announce that the Northeast Mini Medal will be spl
it into 2 Finals. One for riders on ponies and one for riders on horses. We have changed the heights of some of the jumper classes in order to give those interested more challenging courses. The pony hunters are being offered a USEF classic and we will offer the MHC 2’6" & 2’9" Open Hunter Derbies, with prize money, dress sheets and beautiful ribbons. These classes will be held at all the shows in Raynham. Our first two March shows will again be at Herring Brook Farm in Pembroke and we are very excited about the additional indoor they are planning and with permitting well under way hopefully it will be available for our shows. With the large 100 x 200 indoor, heated viewing room and ample parking, it will make for a great venue no matter the weather. Again this year we are offering the Marshall & Sterling classes, the three jumper divisions with championships, a $500 Jumper Classic and $500 Mini Prix. The jumper divisions will again be part of the 2nd annual circuit awards, The Baystate Circuit Awards, with the Norfork Hunt Horse Show and the South East Hunter Association horse shows participating. Our ever-popular $1000 cash trainer’s award is now in its 5th year. The drawing will be at the Cape Cod Hunter Finals Horse Show in Medway, MA at Saddle Rowe Farm. Please use this website to find our dates, prize list, on line entries, and photos and any updates about the show series. Our office will have three full time secretaries at our three ring shows. Julie Shea will head up our office along with the return of Elaine Powers and additional staff.
2014 is Cape Cod Hunter Horse Shows 25th anniversary of our awards program. We will again be presenting two custom McGuinn Tack Trunks, sponsored by McGuinn Farms of Ft. Lauderdale, FLA to our High Point Equitation and Hunter exhibitors. The award presentations will again be presented at our co-hosted banquet with the South East Hunter Association on November 16, 2014 at the Monponsett Inn in Halifax, MA. Our dedicated staff and myself look forward to your participation at the horse shows. As always there is no membership requirement for our series awards. Lastly as you probably all know, our long time show secretary, Pat Larsen, passed away in September. Cape Cod Hunter is dedicating this show series to her. She has been our secretary since 1979 and became an intrical part of Cape Cod Hunter. I thank you all for you’re past support and look forward to making our 36th year of horse shows a memorable one. Sincerely, Nancy Venezia
