The farmers asked if they could do the slide today, and I said sure but think you can do it without getting muddy? I'd say they did awesome with their control!

We always encourage our farmers to help each other, teach each other, motivate each other. We LOVE when we witness an action like this.
Planting one tiny seed helps us grow.
Our little farmers were so excited to FINALLY have a nice sunny day....mud and all. Something about the sunshine after a week of rain.... makes our souls happy.
A farmer's job is never done, even in weird 20 degree Spring weather. We bundled up and made sure all of the animals were taken care of.
We are eager to get out and check our leprechaun trap! Happy St. Patrick's Day from our little farmers!๐
We had the best of both worlds yesterday. Snow leftover from the weekend, sunshine and warmth. This allowed us to spend almost all day outside without coats! We took advantage of the snow to practice our writing skills, footprint recognition and even size comparison with our handprints. Now that the snow is officially gone, we are ready for spring!
Look at my beard.... a mud beard that is. The farmers enjoyed a day of mud from yesterday's rain!
Take a seat and get comfortable.
Our first sign of spring is a fun one. Who knew worms can be so educational, counting as we find them, comparing length and width, using vocabulary to name each one along with learning the importance of earth worms.
Who needs a sled to have fun!? Our farmers had a blast in the snow/ice today!
When a farmer thinks of a funny trick...it brings many laughs as well as problem solving for the others.
Some morning chores are more enjoyable than others. How can you not enjoy this one!?
As we have fun and admire this cutie, we are also learning facts about cows, animal needs, gross motor skills and responsibility.
Thank you to our friends at Long Stone Farm in Lovettsville for letting us borrow or "calf-sit" this little guy to give our farmers a treasured experience.
Today's lesson was in our own pumpkin patch.

September is the month of the horse/pony here at Farm School. The little farmers not only get to experience the animals hands on... they get to pretend to be one and practice their jumps as well.
Want to come to work every day with this much excitement!? Join us in every day adventures! Between barnyard and garden fun, babies and being in the sunshine.... you are sure to have a smile as big as these little farmers.

Knowing that you are helping our society in a positive way by guiding our next generation through whatโs important such as healthy eating, outdoor adventures, active exercises, hard work, and education? All things grow with love. Spent the morning watering each blueberry and raspberry plant. This "chore" practices social skills (taking turns, using teamwork to fill the can) fine and gross motor (walking to the plant without spilling) and even counting (we counted each plant!) ๐ฑ๐ซ
Even our chickens join in on playground fun ๐๐

Farmers enjoyed their "gold" at the end of their rainbow. Not only did they get to eat the sweets, they used fine motor skills, color recognition, counting and memory.
Spring weather brings mud, we make mud cookies.
Our little farmers are ready for spring, planting cauliflower starters. Even on a cold icy day! How many more days until spring!?
Snowman building is hard work! Our farmers enjoyed playing in the snow today! And guess what!? There was learning involved! We practiced writing in the snow, size comparison with snowballs, and animal track identification. Along with plenty of gross motor skills, fun and smiles.
Today's lesson: slow and steady wins the race, especially with a wheelbarrow full of woodchips. The farmers realized we had a muddy patch under the slide, they worked together to bring woodchips to help cover it.
Farm School participated in a reverse advent calendar this year. Farmers added a box or can of food daily for us to donate to a local hunger relief. This helps teach our children compassion, caring, and giving instead of always taking. Thank you farmers and families!
First day back in the new year, we had work to do! We used teamwork to carry the Christmas tree to the barnyard for the goats to snack on. This taught the importance of recycling/reusing, teamwork and taking care of our animals.
Are we in Bethlehem yet!? Merry Christmas to all of our families, teachers, friends, followers and everyone in between.
Little farmers taking a break from snow play. One little farmer's hat makes us take a double look, is that Jimmy Dean our farm pig or a friend?
Anyone else this excited for the snow and ice headed our way tomorrow?
An egg a day keeps the doctor away! Our little farmers love collecting, counting and sorting eggs by color and size.

Brooks and Dunn got their hair cut today! They were super calm and enjoyed their spa day. Thanks Dr. Margi! #wool #sheep
Last week our little farmers learned about working dogs and how they are important on the farm. Our special guest Meghann Weller, owner of Sit Stay Dog Training, came to teach them about dog safety and how to train a dog. Thanks for showing us the cool tricks! Your dog was so patient with our kids! #dogtraining #workingdogs #farmdogs Www.sitstayk9training.com
Good bugs vs bad bugs being taught by local Environmental Pest Control, Ryan Garrison. He had everyoneโs attention playing the fun game of good vs bad. Answer to all questions....leave them alone and go tell your teacher or parents ๐. Thanks Mr. Ryan! Www.environmentalpc.com #bugs #environmentalpc #savethebees
Jimmie loves it when she gets to play with the little farmers on the playground. Sheโs like a little puppy! ๐ท #pigsofinstagram #pig
These boys were determined to move this huge obstacle out of the way for mowing. The #teamwork was impressive! Go farmers!
We have rare footage of when Tim, the Enchanter and the โvicious creatureโ killer rabbit met for the first time! It happened right here at Farm School! #montypython #holygrail #timtheenchanter #killerrabbitofcaerbannog
Do you ever get irritated that you spent 15 minutes trying to shove your kid in their snowsuit and they spend 5 minutes outside and right back in asking for you to take it all off? Sometimes it deters us from letting our kids go outside to play in the snow because itโs โso much work.โ Here is some inspiration! Farm School challenges you to teach your child how to dress themselves in their own snow suits. Donโt think they can do it? Little Julianne is only 2 and with a little patience she does it completely herself. Donโt stop your kids from going out to play. Help them do it whenever they want! #farmschoolchallengeaccepted
There is zero screen time at Farm School except when one of our little farmers is face-timing in from the hospital and all his friends want to see how heโs doing! #communitybuilding #friendsforever
Lucy never leaves his side. I donโt think he always feels the same way. Natural way for a #turducken?
