Sold the cows and retired from ranching, but we are still farming. We have been busy making hay. Hay is located in Hamilton or Evant. All hay is wrapped wide bales. Baler was set at 66”. Most came out at 68. Hay was fertilized in April.
150 good clean coastal with a small amount of Johnson grass and KR bluestem. $75/bal
184 Coastal mix grass. Good cattle hay. What I usually feed my cows. $65/bale

134 Tifton hay with small amount of other grasses. $75/bale

We have been reflecting back on last Saturday's sale, The Final Chapter. Big thanks to everyone that came, and everyone that followed online. We sure appreciate the bidders and buyers, both in the live sale and the embryo and semen sale that ended that evening. We were pleased with the results. All the cattle have been picked up, except for one load and it is finally settling down around here. We hope that everyone that took home Hidden Oaks cattle, have purchased cows or bulls that will produce and make you money. We will be watching to see if any of them raise a Champion for the new owners. We have enjoyed being Hereford breeders and although, we may be retired we hope to see our fellow breeders on down the road when we get tired of doing retired people stuff or our grandson begins his show career.
