Bird friends... What is your favorite cage brand that you can still find to buy NEW? (S/S is not in our budget). I love my old Avian Adventures cages, but alas, they are no longer made, and 30+ years might be the cut-off for needing replacements. (Meyers to Pionus to Macaw size)

Wish me luck, I will be speaking in front of the Colonial Heights Board of Supervisors on the Benefits of allowing backyard Chicken Keeping. Public speaking is still a weakness of mine, letter writing, Great! Took me about 15-20 minutes to write up what to say, will probably take me the next 6 hours to practice saying it ;) Cluck-Cluck

Adopting older birds is fun! (50+ senior BFA) Woke up this morning to the parrots all going gangbusters. Evidently the crow outside was setting them off. Get ready for the day and walk downstairs. Dang, that crow must be on our back deck... the sound's getting louder! NOPE. Mr. Sam here evidently has a very loud Crow Caw. LOL.

Well, went to let my dogs out after the rain and found a little copperhead coiled at the threshold of my front door. Didn't want him indoors, so slammed it to grab my broom nearby, opened the door again to find that my dog had taken charge and was whipping it back and forth to dispatch it. Used the broom to separate said dog from snake and the pooper-scooper tongs to move the snake into the woods. Unfortunately, the dog had its way before I could intervene, but I don't believe anyone was bitten, so that's good. Never a dull moment. But at least I found it before my daughter returned with my iced latte.

A gorgeous Jungle Carpet Python .. unfortunately, I couldn't talk his person into selling him to me :) My search goes on for the perfect Jungle Carpet for my educational program. Perhaps the Pomona, CA Super Pet Expo will have something?
