Molting season is in full swing. Lots of vacuuming and showers over here! I also forget just how many feathers they lose when they molt.

I recently learned that parrots molt symmetrically! So when they lose one primary flight feather, they lose the same one on the other side 🪞 so neat!

Parrot that groom together, bloom together 💚💛💙

Trouble and Pantera are cohabiting well! Lots of parallel play without direct interaction. All good things!

We added another feathered friend to our home 🏡

Meet Trouble!

Trouble is a 20 year old military macaw. Did you know, military macaws are endangered? The military macaw gets its name from its olive-green feathers that resemble a military uniform. These intelligent birds can live up to 60 years or more. They have white facial skin that blushes pink when excited

While right now Trouble is being fostered by us, we hope one day she will have a permanent residence at KKH 💚🌈
