I, Trent Wise, just want to start off by saying thank you. I know I didn’t get the chance to make it around and visit with every family and exhibitor today, but I truly appreciate each and every one of you that showed up and supported this show.
Today we had an incredible turnout, and it’s honestly humbling to be able to put on something like this for all of you, especially for the kids. At the end of the day, that’s what this is all about. It takes a whole village to put on a show of this caliber, and I hope everyone understands that organizing a show and actually showing are two completely different challenges. Both take a lot of work, and both deserve respect.
One thing I always want to emphasize is that this show is about the kids. It’s about setting the example for the next generation of showmen and women. The way we act, compete, and support each other matters more than anything that happens in the ring.
I’ve been lucky enough to hear a lot of kind words today about the facilities, the awards, and the backdrop, and that means a lot. We work hard to make this show special, and I can promise you right now, we’re already planning to make it even bigger and better next year.
I also want to give a big thank you to our judge, Ryan Rash. He did an outstanding job today, fair, honest, and willing to help exhibitors understand what to improve on. That’s exactly what you want in a judge.
Another huge thank you goes to Heidi Anderson and the Legacy Livestock Photography crew for capturing all the moments throughout the day. Those pictures will be something these kids can look back on for years to come.
At the end of the day, the only thing that truly matters to me is seeing smiles on kids’ faces when they walk out of that ring. That’s what makes all of this worth it.
Again, thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this show happen. It did not go unnoticed. I appreciate you all more than you know, and I hope to see every one of you back here next year.
