Through strong public-private partnerships, the Centers for Excellence are investing in workforce development, research, and innovation to help Pennsylvania agriculture thrive today and into the future.

New investments include the Center for Plant Excellence, launched in 2025, and the Organic Center of Excellence, along with the PA Preferred Organic™ brand to expand market opportunities for producers.

With $4.1 million in state funding, these centers continue to strengthen Pennsylvania’s leadership in plant and animal agriculture—feeding our economy, our communities, and our nation.

We attended Penn State Extension's Farming For Success field day event in Lancaster, where attendees, who are planners, row crop farmers, seed and fertilizer sale professionals, learned about not just crops, but poultry farms and biosecurity protocols on farms and what to do when working or traveling in zones, areas and premises during a HPAI Outbreak from Penn State Extension's Dr. Martin and Dr. Meinen.

Day 2 of Ag Progress Days is off to a great start! ✅

We had an excellent turnout for our annual co-joint Animal Ag Breakfast at the Special Events Building. 🍳☕

Along with other leaders from the Centers of Beef, Dairy, PennAg Industries, and the Beef Working group, Executive Director Jennifer Reed-Harry shared the Center's work to support Poultry, swine, sheep, and goat producers, from biosecurity to the sheep and goat marketing poster. 🐐🐑

She also shared the importance of all livestock farmers being Biosecurity Heroes! Hence, our breakfast giveaway is a customized Biosecuity Hero Toolbox bag! 🦸🛍️
