I can’t get over the difference in color between our hard red winter berries and those we bought online!

The first pic from left to right is our hard red, hard red from online, and our hard white. In the bowl it’s hard white in the upper left, our hard red in the bottom left, and the hard red grain from online on the right.

The pictures truly don’t do it justice! I’m considering testing the one I got online to see if there’s a difference in protein and falling numbers. It’s amazing to understand the wide variety of hard reds that are planted from farm to farm, region to region!!

It’s also nice to be baking with the same grain each time now. I know what to expect and my results have become much more consistent 🍞

We have flour and wheat!! 🎉 And we plan to have enough for our regular customers until next harvest! Our wheat berries are picked up in the field, at harvest. We can’t get you any close to the source 😉

These are our prices for the year. We will not be changing them as supplies diminish! For this year we will have hard red and white winter wheat. It is glyphosate free and from farms that use regenerative practices. It’s also non-GMO but that goes without saying in my opinion.

If I can source spelt or einkorn from a glyphosate free, regenerative, or organic (if verifiable) farm, we will go get as much as we can. Otherwise our farmer is willing to grow both for us for next year’s crop.

As a person working hard to thrive in the face of disabling chronic illness, I know the importance of high quality, food sources. That is what took me down the path of baking all our own baked goods, then fresh milled flour, and eventually personally sourcing our wheat berries. We hope to help other families focusing on healthy food for whatever the reason! 🌾

We have a new name! Rosemont Farm Co!

This May not only did my partner in chickens graduate from college 👩🏼‍🎓, she also got married 👰🏼‍♀️! One day she hopes to have her own flock and egg/pasture bird business and use the Funky Flock for her brand. To facilitate that dream we are changing the name here to Rosemont Farm Co. When she is ready she will start a new Funky Flock page and we will share her adventures as well so you can follow along as soon as they are ready!

Here we will be brining you fresh from the farm products that we know are raised in sustainable and regenerative ways!

Starting this weekend we will have hard red wheat berries and freshly milled flour available! We buy from a family farmer in south central Nebraska. we got to pick it up today and even helped harvest a bit!!

In the next couple weeks we will pick up hard white wheat and will have both the berries & flour available. Our hope is to have enough to last through spring for our regular customers.

All flour milling is done in a stone mill at the time of pickup. You can select from course, medium, or fine grind.

We switched to all fresh milled flour and baking all our bread and buns last year. It’s been a noticeable help for my health and we have no regrets!

I’ll be sharing more tips on FMF and baking in the coming weeks.

Pricing: See pinned post

Remember, fresh milled flour (fmf) is the freshest for about 2 to 4 weeks unless stored in the freezer

*You are welcome to bring your own glass jars or buckets! We will also have them available for purchase if needed. We personally use quart and half gallon jars to store our grain and flour. Our preference is to use as little single use bags/containers as possible 😊

Message me here or at on my cell for our address. We now live near 180th and F.

Looking forward to seeing so many of you again soon!! Living in town and not having chickens has been a big change.

We have about 20 broilers available out of this run. They will be dressed, packaged, and ready for pickup tomorrow afternoon.

These birds have been raised on locally milled feed and given unlimited access to pasture. We expect they will dress out between 3 1/2 and 5 pounds each.

Let us know if you’re interested and would like to come by tomorrow. We also have plenty of eggs available too!!

Pricing based on quantity.
