🎉 It’s a BIG week around here!

Not only is it back-to-school week and International Small Business Week, but we’re also celebrating Farmer John’s 30th birthday at the market this Saturday! 🥳

If you’ve never made Saturday morning at the farmers market part of your family routine, this is a pretty good week to start. Come grab some fresh, local food for the week, meet the people who raise it, and let the kids experience where their food actually comes from.

We’ll have a special sale on our ground beef bundles — ONLY at the market this Saturday! 🍔🌮🍝 So if you’re stocking up for those busy back-to-school dinners, this is the week to come see us. I also have a special "Back-to-School Bundle" perfect for stocking the freezer with cooking stables! (find out more from my post earlier this week)

And we’ll have some fun things for the kids, too! I’ll have free recipe/activity books to help them learn more about the benefits of eating beef. We’ll also have our farm video playing at the booth, showing what a year in the life of a farmer really looks like.

As a mom with a daughter starting kindergarten myself, I know firsthand that this week is full of new routines, new schedules, and trying to figure out how to feed everybody in the middle of it all. 😅 (Lemme just say how much easier figuring out dinner is with a well stocked freezer.) One reason I love our farmers market so much: it’s not just about buying food. It’s about connecting our families with the people who grow and raise it... like my husband, Farmer John. ❤️

He works a full-time engineering job outside the farm, comes home and works on the farm, and somehow still manages to greet people with a smile on Saturdays. He married into this farm life and has poured so much of himself into helping us build what we’re building here. He was an FFA kid at Valley Springs High School, and now he’s helping carry on a fifth-generation family farm that has been right here in Boone County since 1929.

So this Saturday, come grab some beef, let the kids learn something, and help us celebrate the guy who works pretty darn hard behind the scenes.

And if you see Farmer John at the market, be sure to tell him HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY! 🎂🥳

🎒 HEY MOMS & DADS...BUSY SCHOOL NIGHTS ARE HERE AGAIN! 🎒

Between school, homework, activities, work, and everything else that fills up our evenings, figuring out “What’s for dinner?” can be one more thing you just don’t need on your plate. 😉

So we put together something to help make those busy nights a little easier…

Tomorrow is a great day to stock up on local, Boone County-raised Black Angus beef! 🥩

Our steak selection is the fullest it's been in a while, so if you've been waiting for ribeyes, strips, sirloins, briskets, or your favorite grilling cuts, tomorrow is the perfect time to shop. (We're only out of a couple of steak cuts.)

We'll be at the Farmers and Artisans Market of Harrison this Saturday, August 1, from 7 a.m. to noon, and we'd love to help you fill your freezer with beef raised right here on our 5th generation family farm.

One important note: We will not be at the market on Saturday, August 8. If you were planning to shop with us next weekend, be sure to stop by tomorrow instead!
