Chicken keeping is so rewarding. ❤️ But unfortunately, there also comes a time when you have to play chicken doctor. 🐔🩺

This poor girl is newly laying and is egg-bound with a possible vent prolapse. Being prepared for situations like this is so important when raising chickens.

I’ll be giving her the full-court press and doing everything I can to try to save this sweet girl. 🙏🙏🙏

Update:
Sadly, we lost this sweet girl. 💔 While it’s heartbreaking, it’s also a reminder of just how important it is to pay attention to even subtle changes in behavior and to be prepared for medical emergencies.
