12 Black Copper Marans eggs went in the incubator tonight! I wasn’t planning on incubating anything for a while but Wednesday, my singular BCM hen, is finally laying again after a long stretch of on and off broodiness so I took the opportunity to collect some of her eggs. I’m not sure how many of these will be viable but hopefully I’ll get a few babies at least in 21 days 🤞🏽

Chicken waterers!

One of the most asked questions from new chicken owners. In all aspects of chicken keeping, I believe in keeping things simple. After trying the popular red cups attached to a bucket set up and not loving it, I bought a steel pan from TSC and haven’t looked back since. It takes me 2 minutes to rinse it out and refill it every morning so my chickens have fresh water daily. I don’t have to worry about green goo building up or cleaning fiddly waterers (which I personally find all chicken specific waterers to be overcomplicated). It’s cheap and you can get multiple for larger flocks at a low expense.
