A huge shout out to the The State Theater of Havre de Grace for hosting our band, Mambo Combo, who was booked for today.

While it wasn’t the same as the festival, you can’t beat great live music, drinks, and food, and even better company! I got to personally meet so many people who come every year. It was an awesome afternoon! 🦪🍷🎶

‼️‼️‼️ATTENTION TICKET HOLDERS to the 3rd Annual Susquehanna Wine & Seafood Fest - check your inbox, a survey was just sent out. This survey is intended for current ticket holders only.

Friends,
I will need to decide this afternoon regarding keeping the festival on Saturday, or moving it to Sunday, September 24, which has always been the date in place in the event of severe inclement weather.

As ticket holders, your input is crucial to my decision. I would truly appreciate everyone filling this out prior to noon today, Friday, September 22.

Before filling out this form, I would like for everyone to know the following:
1. VIP Ticket holders - you are guaranteed a seat under the VIP tent. For those of you who have attended in the past, we added another 40x60 tent and there is seating for 1,000. Please keep in mind that seating is for adult ticket holders only. Kids may enter, but would not have a seat.

2. Safety is always our top priority. In addition to the 3 - 40x60 tents in VIP we added:
1 - 40x60 for several food vendors, 2 - 20x40 for wine tasting tables and bars, 1 - 30x50, and 1 40x60 for vendors. While it would be impossible to tent the entire venue, this will give vendors space to set-up under a secure tent (versus a pop-up tent) and allow for space in front of the table to keep people dry while ordering/ sipping. When I saw the weather reports earlier this week, I was able to add additional tents to my initial order thanks to ABC Rentals. Yesterday, Chesapeake Rentals came out and was able to offer me additional tents as well. I have spoken to the owners of both companies as I am not a tent expert and asked if their tents would be ok with the winds that are forecasted and they both stated that yes, they would be fine, especially without sidewalls. I made this hefty investment so that our attendees and vendors could have a more enjoyable experience with the expected precipitation.

3. GA & Wine Tasting Food and Drink Ticket Holders - currently, there is enough space in the VIP Tent to allow for upgrades. Please email me AFTER we decide if it will be Saturday or Sunday if you'd like to upgrade.

4. If we moved to Sunday, hours would most likely be 11-6. VIP Ticket holders would be permitted to enter at 10am. I DO have 2-3 bands ready to go if we make this change.

5. VIP Ticket Holders with Crabs - If held on Saturday, Jimmy's Famous Seafood would not be able to attend due to their large TailGOAT. I will be reaching out to others to see if they could steam crabs in place. If not, you your ticket will be partially refunded $30 (which is upcharge for crabs).

6. Please understand that tickets will remain non-refundable as stated. Mother Nature is unkind at times. We have built in Sunday as our severe inclement weather day to allow us a back-up. This was communicated to everyone prior to purchasing tickets and everyone was required to check the box acknowledging the following prior to check out, "I understand that tickets are non-refundable and the event is rain or shine. In the event of SEVERE inclement weather, the event will be held on Sunday, September 24th." This was also communicated to our vendors and sponsors prior to registration. Producing festivals requires hundreds of hours of planning. In addition, festivals have a lot of expenses, which the majority have already been paid. So, the festival will go on either Saturday or Sunday. There is no opportunity for us to choose a completely different date.

In a perfect world, I would wave a magic wand and change the forecast to 70 and sunny, but we all know this is not the case. I keep trying to find the silver lining and remind myself that when I personally called 585 ticket holders to the 6th Annual Baltimore Wine Fest in 2020, I said over and over, "Remember when we used to worry about rain? What I would give to be able to gather at a festival in the rain right now," and we laughed together.

Thank you for your time. I am hopeful everyone is patient and understanding, while we navigate some very tough decisions this morning/ early afternoon. I am a small business owner and this is a family business. I have been producing festivals in Baltimore since 2014. When I moved to Havre de Grace in 2019, I was so excited to extend my festival portfolio to Harford County. My vendors, sponsors, team members, and attendees have become family over the years. When I spoke to Faidley's Seafood yesterday, the owner told me that her husband asked if this was a smart financial decision to set-up and vend in the rain. She said to him, "I honestly don't know, but I told Beth I am going to be there and I will always show up for her." This means a lot to me. I have ensured food vendors who are investing a huge amount of money for food, labor, and even rentals, that people will show up if there's good wine and seafood because that's what Marylanders do!

Decisions like this weigh extremely heavily on me and your input will play a major factor in how we move forward. We have an AWESOME lineup of food, art, wine, and spirits and I cannot wait for everyone to experience it!

‼️Attention ticket holders - we have been monitoring the weather. It has been a roller coaster ride tracking all of the varying reports. I even have my cousin who is a meteorologist in Texas pulling detailed reports on his overnight shift.

We love this festival and look forward to seeing all of the restaurants, food trucks, wineries, local vendors, and of course, our guests. 🍷

VIP ticket holders - you are guaranteed seating under the VIP tent. We expanded our VIP area by 1/3 to ensure we have ample space. 🦀

Wine Tasting & Food/ General Admission Ticket holders - we do have enough space to allow for upgrades. 🎪

There’s definitely rain headed our way this weekend. Today, we were able to secure an additional 30x50, 2 - 40x60, and 2 - 20x40 tents. These are large, staked tents. We will place our vendors under these tents as pop up tents do not do well with any wind. ☔️

While we love to kickback and enjoy wine and seafood - our guests’ safety is our primary concern.

We will monitor the weather this evening and into tomorrow. We will make a call tomorrow at 4pm as to whether we will move to Sunday, September 24. This date has always been our backup date in the event of severe inclement weather and has been communicated to all vendors and ticket holders prior to purchasing tickets.

As a small business owner, producing events is equally rewarding and stressful. Thank you everyone for your patience as we navigate all of these difficult decisions. To many, an event is just an event, but to us, it is our livelihood that has taken hundreds of hours to plan.

I keep thinking back to 2020, when I called 584 people personally to let them know we could not gather for the 6th Annual Baltimore Wine Fest.
We laughed about worrying about rain, when we would give anything to gather at a festival.

Main Stage Schedule:

11:30 PM - 2:00 PM - Mambo Combo - Mambo Combo has been named best Latin music group by WAMA (the Washington Area Music Association) and "Best Party Band" by Baltimore Magazine. For thirty-five years, the band has been entertaining in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond, from the Caribbean to New England.
Few people can resist dancing to the infectious soca and samba, and those who tango will be motivated to do this dramatic and passionate dance. Baltimore Magazine reported, "... crowds moving to the seductive rhythms of Island sound are a pretty good tip-off that the group is nearby."

2:30 PM - 4:45 PM - The Soularites - The Soularites are a 6-piece family of veteran musicians from the Baltimore and DC reggae/ska scene. Their sound is rooted in rootsy reggae/horn-laden two-tone ska with elements of soul, r&b, rock and jazz. Evoking positive energy with conscious original music and lively covers sure to get you singin' and dancin', The Soularites are gonna make your soul-"a'rite"!

5:15 PM - 7:30 PM - The 8 Ohms Band - The 8 Ohms Band is a powerhouse lineup of players from all over the DC metro area. Bringing heaping doses of Horn Heavy Funk backing the vocals of I-Peace Unikue! Drawing from diverse musical backgrounds, The 8 Ohms are known for blurring the lines between hard groove, funk, soul, reggae and a slight taste of DC's own go-go music.
