Appalachian Barrel Company

Rooted in the Mountains. Crafted by three founders with deep Appalachian roots, our bourbon fuses tradition with the craft of the Bluegrass. Aged slow and made to share, each sip carries the pride of our homeland. This is bourbon the Appalachian way.

One year ago, we bottled our very first barrel.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe what can happen in just 12 months. Since that first bottle came off the line, we’ve bottled 139 single barrels—every one of them unique, barrel proof, and true to who we are.

It’s been a year full of long days, late nights, plenty of lessons, and a lot of support from all of you. We truly appreciate everyone who’s bought a bottle, shared our story, or followed along since the beginning.

To celebrate this milestone, we bottled a special 1-Year Anniversary Barrel—our oldest bottle to date. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate our first year. Thank you for being part of the journey.

Year One is in the books. On to Year Two. 🥃

What really sets Appalachian Barrel Company apart is our barrel selection.

We don’t do small batches. We don’t finish bourbon in Japanese oak, rum barrels, or add honey, cocoa nibs, or whatever the latest trend is. We don’t proof our bourbon down with water just to squeeze more bottles out of a barrel.

We believe great bourbon starts with buying great barrels.

Every barrel is tasted before we buy it. We pass on a lot more than we purchase because not every barrel is worthy of wearing the Appalachian Barrel Company label.

At the end of the day, our names are on the front of every bottle. If we aren’t proud enough to sign it, we’re not selling it.

It’s a slower, harder way to build a bourbon company—but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Coming up on one year since we dumped our first barrel.

Crazy how fast it’s gone. We appreciate everyone who’s been along for the ride. The next 365 is going to be wild.

We’re just getting started. 🥃

Tasting Notes: (Barrel Strength): Rich butterscotch, vanilla bean, and seasoned oak create an inviting first impression.
