It’s been a really big week here at Thompson Farms. We’re preparing for the field day on Saturday the 19th and to do that we had to bring the flock home from Hauber’s Field. Special thanks to Julie & Dale, Kris & Jim and friends and Kent. Bravo!!! Video courtesy Kris.

The flock is definitely enjoying “the jungle”.

We’re going to leave the Goldenrod tall and Milkweed standing as it appears there will be a good amount of Monarch butterflies hatching soon. Goldenrod honey is also very tasty.

Wednesday evening, we moved the flock to a neighboring farm to start grazing some forage that has rested 200+ days.
Thank you Kent & Zander!

A busy week concludes.

We finished up shearing with the help of local shearing legends Mike and Tom Horton.

Thursday, our first load of market lambs went to Jersey Shore Livestock Auction.

And today, all of the geese were moved to one field to maximize grazing power, manure deposition, and ease of doing chores.
