Attention Local Hop Growers!!!
Please bring your freshly picked hops in to Lewis and Clark Brewing Company NOW THRU WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th so we can brew our annual batch of Neighborhood IPA.

Be a part of this annual brew and bring your freshly picked hop cones either in paper bags or plastic bags NOT tied shut (they need to breathe!). Hop donators will receive beer tokens and discounts on this special beer while it lasts. Don't have hops? We also need pickers to pick in our hop garden at the brewery! Beer tokens for your work!

Already are getting donations and the hops look amazing! Thank you!!

Hop rhizomes have been ordered and we will post when the annual Hop Head meeting will take place! It will probably be the first week of May at Lewis and Clark Brewing Company

Growing hops at home is among the more rewarding non-brewing activities a homebrewer could do. There’s a little upfront investment for a trellis, some planning involved and patience, but when those first cones start to come in, the harvest season can’t come soon enough.

Friends, the harvest turned out great! Thanks for all of the help. We had approximately 50 to 55lbs of freshly grown Helena hops to use this year in the Neighborhood IPA, which is about double what we had last year. you guys all rock! See you in the Tap Room in a few more weeks. We'll raise a pint in celebration. Cheers! -John

Here's a pretty cool article (with accompanying video) on one family's hop farm in Washington. The harvest is so huge that it blows my mind.

Hops are one of America's must unusual crops, but critical in the making of beer. Paul Ryan gets the lowdown on hops and beer in Washington State.
