Had a good hatch the other day! Now it's time to clean out the Hatcher and get it ready for the next batch!

What do y'all do with your eggshells?

I used to have a few ladies who wanted mine for egg shell murals, I wish we would have stayed in touch, I would've loved to see how those turned out!!

This little grow-out is one of my absolute favorites 😍

I’m not 100% sure what cross she is, cause her leg band went missing at some point. But i can guarantee one thing, she’s going to lay a gorgeous egg!

Hey y’all! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted on here, and you might notice something new… this page has a fresh name!

What used to be The Biggest Little Homestead is now ETX Gemstone Eggers!! When i started this page i was practically running a farm with all the animals, but Iv officially downsized to only my birds to fully focus on them.

I’m so excited to share more chicken adventures, colorful eggs, and updates with you all!! 🥚🙂

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!

Bringing in the New Year right with LOTS of new life, Pulled a decent sized hatch of babies today. First hatch of many in 2024, starting Jan 11th, I’ll be pulling chicks every Thursday night for local pick up only. Spring is just around the corner 🐣🐣

Last babies born for the year, a gorgeous buckling and doeling!

Whew it’s been a crazy, sleepless, but fun last two weeks, A total of 11 kids and litter of piglets were born on the farm. Baby zoomies all over!

New soaping adventure maybe?

Rendering down some pork fat to try our hand at lard soap! We have mastered our goat milk soap recipe and absolutely love it but we drink SO MUCH goat milk that we can’t keep up with both demands. Lard soap has just as many benefits as goat milk soap so very excited to give it a try!
