Honey is bottled and ready to sweeten your day! Our 1 pound bottles are $12 each and are 100% raw, local honey from happy honey bees in Hermon. This wildflower blend has a sweet fruity taste to it with notes of apple and pear and would be delightful to accent a summer charcuterie board or on your morning oatmeal (or in your tea โ€” iced or hot)!

We also have 4 bottles left of last year's fall 2025 goldenrod honey for anyone looking for that more earthy taste. $12 per bottle.

Message us if you'd like to arrange a pickup (please specify how many 1 pound bottles you'd like).

Today was bottling day, no small feat with about 150 pounds of honey to bottle, label and inventory. Now the fun part... selling for all of you to enjoy!

What does it look like to bottle? Here's a little BTS.

The girls have been busy creating delicious honey for you! We'll be processing it this week and should have honey ready within the next couple of weeks!

It's been a busy week in the apiary.
๐Ÿ New queens have been busy getting acclimated in their role as head honcho and learning how to lay appropriately.

๐ŸŒธ The spring/summer flow is still on so the girls are working hard to make honey that we will harvest toward the end of the month. That means we SHOULD have a wildflower honey ready to sell by August. ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿ‘€ The bees are also making wax like crazy to bolster their honey boxes and build out the regular boxes. When they do this they do a behavior called festooning where hundreds of worker bees link their legs together to form a hanging chain, acting as a living bridge or scaffolding as they pass wax along from their bodies to build the comb that is in their hives. Deb has been itching to catch this in her lens and here's a look at what you might see if you looked down at these beautiful ladies.

We promise more photos down the line.

Our bees have been busy making summer honey and we're getting prepared to host our very first Open Hive of the season for the members of the Penobscot County Beekeepers Association.

An open hive is an event where local PCBA beekeepers gather at a member apiary and see how they run their hives and sometimes learn a new skill. It's also a chance to have some community time together. At our open hive, state apiary inspector Jen Lund will show us how to mark queens (we have 8 new queens to mark!)

PCBA is a great organization for beekeepers to gather with other local beekeepers, share tips and tricks and learn about how to better support our apiaries and be more sustainable. Our chapter meets on the last Wednesday of each month at Dysarts in Bangor at 6 p.m. if you'd like to join us.

It was a glorious day to hang out with the bees. Some of our hives are busily working on creating spring honey while others are focused on building their workforce. Good job ladies!
