Water Valley Train Tracks Pork Attack BBQ contest recap. We just wrapped up another great weekend competing at the Water Valley Watermelon Festival, and what an event it was!
From the car show, carnival food, live music, and huge fireworks display to some outstanding BBQ
competition, this festival had something for everyone. A big shoutout to Tonya and the entire
team for putting on another first-class event. As always, it was extremely well organized and a lot of fun. This year's competition was stacked with talent. It was great to see some old-school teams back in action, including Pork Me Baby, who showed up and earned a Top 10 finish in pulled pork. It's always good to see familiar faces back on the circuit.
As for our team, we were fortunate to bring home a 4th Place finish in Whole Hog. We also finished 11th in both Ribs and Pulled Pork. While those weren't exactly the results we were hoping for, we're thankful for the opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in MBN BBQ.
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists, including:
 Grind City Smokers for making the finals
 Old Smokey BBQ
 Meat Whiskey
Will Be Que
Indirect Fire BBQ
Busted Knuckle BBQ
 And Will Hair Katie Redus Hair of Smoke Masters, who captured Grand Champion honors with an outstanding rib entry. We also enjoyed spending time with great friends throughout the weekend, including FeLisha Yarbro Powers and Marty Powers of Mavericks BBQ, Hank Couch and Tia Couch of Mean Gene’s cooking Team, Monica Chase Nichols and Jack Nichols of Fat Head BBQ, and meeting some first timers in the Patio division. That's what makes this BBQ family so special. The friendships, fellowship, and memories are just as important as the competition.
A huge thank you to our sponsors and supporters:
 Heath Riles BBQ Rubs & Sauces
 CRL Construction
 And everyone who follows, supports, and encourages us throughout the year.
We truly appreciate each and every one of you. We had a fantastic time, met some great people, and enjoyed another memorable weekend on the BBQ trail. We're already looking forward to coming back next year.

Back on the Social Feed – Competition Recap!
I've taken a little break from social media over the past month, but I wanted to catch everyone up on
what we've been up to on the BBQ trail.
First up was Thunder on the Water in Grenada, Mississippi, and what a fantastic cook it was. We
were fortunate enough to final in Pulled Pork and bring home a 3rd-place finish, while our Ribs
landed 11th overall. As always, it was a great event, and we had an absolute blast.
A big thank you to Duan and Justin and the entire team that puts this event together each year. It's
always well run, and the hospitality is second to none. Congratulations to all the winners,
especially Grand Champions Will and Katie Hare of Smoke Masters. Outstanding job!
After a weekend off, we headed to Bootleggers Bash in Richland, Mississippi. This was their
inaugural competition, and they did an excellent job. The event was very organized, very well run,
and we learned a lot throughout the weekend. We will definitely be back next year.
At Bootleggers Bash, we managed a 4th-place finish in Pulled Pork and a 7th-place call in
Ribs. Congratulations to Meat Whiskey and all the finalists. Also, great job to Swine
Life and Fathead BBQ for their finals in Whole Hog.
Shoutout to Big Whit and the Boys and Girls and New Kenny, for a great cook,
and congratulations to our good friend Mike with Old Smokey BBQ, who had a strong showing in
Pulled Pork as well.
There were a lot of Heath Riles-sponsored teams competing, and it was great seeing those
products represented so well. We've been on a pretty good run lately, and those products have
certainly been part of our success.
Thank you to all the sponsors, organizers, judges, volunteers, and fellow competitors who make
these events possible. We had a great time at both competitions and are already looking forward to
the next one. A big thank you to CRL Construction for all your support!
We'll see you down the road and at the next cook!

We had a great time this weekend in Greenwood at the Que on the Yazoo cook! First, we want to give a huge thank you to our sponsors, CRL Construction and Heath Riles BBQ and his products—we truly appreciate the support.

It was awesome spending time with the BBQ family, catching up with Fathead Barbecue, and hanging out with our neighbors Grind City and Smoke Masters. We were fortunate enough to finish 3rd in the pulled pork category, which was a hard-fought battle with a lot of outstanding teams. We also had a great time cooking whole hog this weekend and came in 4th, but most of all we had a blast doing it.

We enjoyed hanging out with Will Be Q, taking pictures, and having a big time with those guys. Another big shoutout goes to Swine Life —their support and guidance are always appreciated. It truly is one big BBQ family, even though you’ve still got to cook it right! One day we’ll give those boys a run for their money—hopefully sooner than later.
We’re having a great time on the circuit and just want to say thank you to everyone involved with the Que on the Yazoo Cook—the judges, sponsors, and all the folks who worked hard to put on a great event. We truly appreciate all the effort that went into it.

We look forward to coming back next year.
Good times as always!

Had an incredible time this weekend at the Peavine Festival down in Boyle, MS! 🔥
Huge shoutout to the MBN reps and judges for putting on such a great event—awesome atmosphere, great live music, and plenty of fun all around. There were a lot of strong teams out there, and we really enjoyed competing alongside both the patio and pro crews. It’s always a good time when everyone comes together to show off their skills and passion for BBQ.
We were fortunate enough to final in Whole Hog, which was an amazing experience for us. We also brought home an 8th place in Shoulder and 16th in Ribs. I’ll be honest—I might’ve eased up on the ribs a bit after finding out we made finals in hog… that one caught me by surprise!
One of the best parts of the weekend was getting to build memories with my youngest son, Christian. Sonya Henry Birkenstock wasn’t able to make it to this comp but Christian showed up and helped me with the hog. That’s something I’ll always remember.
We also brought home a 3rd place Choo Choo, so all in all, a great weekend for the team!
Big thanks to our neighbors David and Tristian Taylor with Ole Bo**er Bear and the Smoking in the Sip patio team—y’all were awesome to be around. As always, huge thanks to Hank and Tia Couch with Mean Gene's! And congratulations to Will Hair of Smokemasters on the Grand Champion win after double finals—well deserved! Always a great time sharing a meal and good conversation.
Shoutout to all the competitors who came out and gave it their all—you made it a weekend to remember.
And finally, a big thank you to our sponsors. We ran all Heath Riles BBQ rubs, sauces, and injections, along with B&B pellets. Proud to represent some great products out there!
Already looking forward to the next one! 💨🔥

We competed in Atoka this weekend and had a fantastic time. We finished 6th in pulled pork, 10th in whole hog, and 35th in ribs. Ribs were great in flavor and appearance but fell short in texture. Congratulations to all who who got a call. Looking forward to the next one! Thanks to the organizers and the MBN reps for putting on a great comp. Heath Riles BBQ
