Harry and Dorothy graduated out of the maternity pen and back to the field. There's nothing more enjoyable than watching a calf get the zoomies!

Cuteness alert!! The baby wait is over - mama cow Dorothy had her calf this morning!! I've named him Harry after his sire, since he looks just like him! Dottie is the best mama and we are looking forward to all the perks of having fresh milk in the house again! We've got a while longer for the other two heifers are expected to calve but it's exciting times!

State Fair 4H show is a wrap! Micah's hen, Norma, won Champion Asiatic. Phoebe was brave and did her first big showmanship competition. Ezra's birds are getting better and better each year.

Edlina update and a SNEAK PEAK!

Sadly Edlina's foot infection returned. He didn't win his fight but we know he had a wonderful life on our farm and over 15 of his poults remain on the farm. Micah is hoping he can socialize one of Edlina's son's to replace him.

In better news, without Edlina the younger turkeys can now free range with the rest of the birds. They enjoyed their first day ranging throughout the farm. They're not the brightest as at least one got stuck in the garden.... any guesses how many figure out how to go up on their own tonight?

We're excited to announce that we've been official approved by the Dept of Ag to sell whole chickens off the farm. The boys had 9 farm raised chickens extra from their 4-H birds that are available for purchase.

We're excited to be back at the Wentzville Foristell Farmers Market this Saturday! Fair week is a busy one! I'm so proud of the kids' hard work. Micah and Ezra did well with their meat birds. A huge shout out to Sara Johnson at American Family Insurance and Sam and Aimee Cope for buying Micah and Ezra's meat birds. Your support goes a long way to funding their future 4H projects so the boys can follow their interests!

The Poultry Fun show was a success as well. Micah won Show Champion for his Langshan C**k and Phoebe won her class with her adorable bantam cockerel in her first show ever. Thank you Jess Lyons for another fun show in the books. The kids learned lots about their birds and ways they can improve them for the future.

An Edlina the turkey update. Dr. Dan removed his infected toe two weeks ago today. We appreciate Dr. Dan for never giving up on Edlina.

While Edlina's not running circles in the yard he is getting around slowly and we're happy to see him showing off. We're hopeful with time his gait will adjust to compensate for the missing toe. I can confirm he's still fertile though, lots of developing Edlina babies in the incubator with the next hatch this weekend!
