More hardship on the horizon for Munster and Highland…

Storm Restoration Update
9 p.m. CT | Aug. 17, 2026

Customers currently without power: 97,000
Customers restored since the start of the event: 265,000

Restoration efforts remain underway, and our crews are working around the clock to repair damage and reconnect service for affected customers. At the same time, as damage assessments have been completed, they have provided a more accurate picture of the storms' severe impact to our infrastructure and given us the ability to more precisely align repairs with restoration estimates. As a result, we are adjusting restoration times for impacted communities as additional information becomes available. Additionally, due to the complexity of the repairs, we are currently unable to provide reliable restoration estimates for some areas.

We understand this is frustrating for customers who are waiting for answers and for their service to be restored. Our teams are making every effort to complete repairs as quickly as possible while maintaining the safety of our employees, contractors and the public.

We will continue to provide updates as our work progresses and will share restoration estimates as soon as we can do so with confidence. In the meantime, we thank our customers for their patience and understanding.
