Another Harvest Right freeze dryer just made it to the farm! 🙌
What started with one machine and a curiosity about preserving extra farm food has grown into a huge part of what we do here at Lucas Organic Farms.
A few years ago, we began freeze drying because we hated seeing beautiful local food go to waste during peak harvest season. Strawberries, milk, eggs, herbs, fruits, veggies — there’s only so much fresh food people can use at once. Freeze drying gave us a way to preserve that fresh, nutrient-dense food long term while keeping the flavor and quality surprisingly close to fresh.
Unlike traditional dehydration, freeze drying removes moisture at very low temperatures, which helps preserve:

And the best part? No preservatives, fillers, dyes, or junk ingredients needed.
