It’s about time I share some updates with you all. After a lot of thoughtful consideration, I’ve decided to pursue a more specialized direction for Madrona Holistics, with a primary focus on serving families. While this work has always been my muse, fully saying yes to supporting the mother–baby dyad through comprehensive mind, body, and spirit care will best allow me to serve this demographic in a way that lights me up and make the most impact.

I’ll be weaving together my passions for bodywork, continuing education, nourishing traditions, and community care to support families in Del Norte and Curry Counties—not only as a bodyworker, but also as a lactation counselor and postpartum doula.

This shift feels so creative and free. Even with all the extra work I’ve been putting in behind the scenes.
You can learn a little more about me, my background, and upcoming offerings at madronaholistics.com.

A natural question parents ask when they hear about Infant-Centered Bodywork is: What exactly is bodywork for infants, and what are its benefits?

Infant bodywork uses gentle, responsive touch— guided by the baby’s cues —to support physical alignment, nervous system balance, and overall comfort.

Babies can develop tension patterns from a variety of sources, including in-utero positioning, birth experiences, genetics, and environmental influences. The benefits of bodywork can be as simple as a calming, standalone session that stimulates circulation and nerve function—or as transformative as improving oral and motor function. Bodywork, especially as part of a complementary approach, can support ease in breastfeeding, digestion, and developmental milestones.

I’m Kristine, the hands and heart of Madrona Holistics. I’m trained in Infant and Pediatric Craniosacral Therapy through the framework developed by Benjamin Shield. Beyond my formal training, I bring a unique personal understanding of this work through my own journey with my children. My background in bodywork and passion for holistic health became essential in seeking real, lasting solutions for my family. I’ve worked with lactation counselors, physical therapists, and other skilled bodyworkers—learning so much along the way. Now, I’m passionate about empowering parents with resources and practical tools they can use at home to support their babies and build connection for the whole family.

Hello, all. As I begin to explore more of a social media presence, I would love to take the chance to introduce myself, share a little more about my background, and how it has alchemized into my passion and vision today.

My name is Kristine. I am a mother, soon to be wife, friend, homesteader, self-taught herbalist, professionally trained bodyworker, and forever student of life. My journey began in the artistic town of Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I longed for the West Coast even as a child. In my teenage years I began immersing myself in herbal medicine and holistic healing modalities, and a few years after graduating high school I completed 750 hours of training in massage therapy and chiropractic assistance. The joy I encountered watching the physical, mental, and spiritual shifts in my clients left me with so much reverence for the power of connection and skillful, safe touch. Something was still missing, though. The truth is I never felt connected to where I was raised and needed to prioritize my own healing before I could be a true vessel for others. That is when I began my journey to Crescent City, California… a small town with a big heart.

Settled, surrounded by pristine beauty, and at the beginning of Covid, I received the initiation that changed everything—motherhood. My children have been my greatest teachers in many areas of life. They helped me embrace the intelligence of physiology, the beauty of coregulation, and the critical role of self-care, especially when leading others. I was able to apply the foundations I gained with my schooling to all aspects of wellness within my family unit. Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum became my muse, and I knew I wanted to serve families.

Both professionally and personally, I’ve worked with a variety of maternal and infant specialized practitioners, such as bodyworkers, physical therapists, and lactation consultants. Most notably, completing 32 hours of infant craniosacral and soft tissue training with the Milne Institute, and will be attending a prenatal/postnatal massage training based off the works of Carole Osborn this winter. I have a deep desire to hold healing space for all bodies and a piqued awareness of the level of skill the maternal and infant demographic asks of us.

I am working towards extending my license to Oregon so I can dual practice living here on the border. My family of 4 is undergoing an expansive, local move that’ll help us all unlock our potential alongside community. My goal is to be settled and have bookings available come fall. In the meantime I’ll be sharing here so you might learn more about me, my philosophies, and a glimpse into the way I intend to practice. I have a deep reverence for the mind-body connection and the way we can help cultivate that sacred relationship through bodywork. I am enchanted by learning and developing myself in life and as a practitioner. I’d be honored to walk beside you on your journey when the time comes.

Attending the Infant Craniosacral Therapy class with the Milne Instutute was one of the top 5 most impactful expiriences of my life — considering 2 of those are giving birth, that’s saying quite a lot! My intention going in was Clarity, and while I don’t have many words yet for what I just experienced, I can say I found it and am savoring integrating it into my body. Which is a safe space to be! I am grateful to have been deeply reminded of this over the last 4 days. The perfect dance of education & healing my own vessel so that I might be able to support others in feeling this saftey too, baby and adult alike.

I am so excited to bring forth this work.

xx

Welcome to Madrona Holistics.
A seed planted long ago,
nurtured in the dark, quiet spaces in between.
Twisted, transformed, aligned, and now...
rising to the light.

My path is one tangled with a deep desire for knowledge and a reverence for intuition: harmony found in the lessons nature so generously provides. It is one of authenticity—honoring the innate need for the village and the act of being of service to those around us.

Madrona Holistics is bodywork and beyond,
curating a balanced approach to physiological well-being that allows the nervous system to integrate peace. My goal is to specialize in maternal and infant care, while secondarily sharing organically grown abundance from our homestead with the community. Madrona Holistics is my expression of creative flow—a love letter to the world, saying, “You are worthy of beautiful, nourishing things and experiences.”

I intend to use this platform to share my process, explorations, soon-to-be offerings, and resources that have been integral to me along the way.

Thank you for being here with me,
and stay tuned for more. xx
