This built-in was by far my most challenging and most rewarding project. Physically, mentally and emotionally it pushed the bar even higher.
Let me take you on the journey.
The majority of the design came directly from the homeowner Kristal who was amazing to work with. Her dedication and standards were something to admire and strive for at every phase.
With the plan in mind, my dad started planing down our stock of white oak. He was super excited about this one and wanted to help more but sadly he past away during construction. So I dedicate this one to him.
But before he passed, he delivered the freshly planned wood from Ormond Beach to Jupiter.
Then we CNC’d the cabinets and arches, assembled and delivered to the finisher.
The finisher mixed up a custom Ebony stain for the exterior and a warm espresso stain for the interior shelves and side walls.
The tambour oak doors for the base were special ordered from Alabama.
The countertop and backsplash was Calacatta Gold Porcelain chosen for is natural look and durability came for Primestones.
To gain more depth we actually cut out niches in the non load bearing section of the wall and recess the countertop and uppers into the wall 4 1/2 inches.
The upper portion has a total of (5) 2 inch thick shelves, with a taller deeper middle section where the mixology will be preformed.
The entire unit is 17 feet wide by 9 ft tall.
To finish this job and honor my father was extremely gratifying.
