I was scrolling through some comments on one of my last freeze dry videos and saw a bunch asking about different parts of the process, so here’s the whole thing in a (hopefully) easy way to understand.

Two things nobody tells you about having a baby. One, postpartum dog rage is real and you're not crazy. Two, the two little habits that made me more productive than I've ever been. Old videos from when my first was tiny, still true!

Which one do you prefer?

Chicken problems and how I handle them! How I get my girls to lay where they're supposed to (and not in random corners of the yard), and what to do when your chickens get soaked in the rain. Chickens are pretty hardy, but they still need a dry place to sleep!

My perfect free range little friend, Milo. I wish you would reproduce but I’ve been told you can’t/won’t with the wild ones. Rip honey.

I’ve always wanted to preserve food but just can’t commit to canning. It takes too much time, I’m sure it’s faster when you know what you’re doing but I dont and I don’t feel like putting in the time to learn more right now. So this is EXCITING to me!!

Thanks Harvest Right for making me feel so cool.

Garden lessons I learned the hard way this year 😅 Pick your broccoli before it flowers, pull your lettuce once it bolts, and give your tomatoes a LOT more room than you think. Throwback to my summer garden, now go write these down for next spring's plan!

What got away from you in the garden this year?

I don’t know why I thought every animal drank like a dog but I did, okay? Sue me. Except now THINKING of every animal drinking like a dog is hilarious. Donkeys? That would be COMICAL

Two duck jobs nobody warns you about! How we clip their wings so they don't fly off (don't let them fly away or you'll be sad and they'll be dead), and how I finally fixed the duck pool so it actually holds water and drains away from the yard. Lesson learned the hard way 😅

Thought this was hilarious the other night in bed. Ran downstairs to write it down so I wouldn’t forget and then put it on a T-shirt the next day.

Link is in my bio for happy acre homestead merch! :) proceeds go to helping me be able to stay home instead of going back to work. Lol I’m not gonna lie to ya.
