I wanted to give everyone an update on our Luci. She went into labor on Monday and has given us 8 special little blessings. I have been out of town due to a family emergency, but our kids, Kate, Layne, and Will, have been taking excellent around the clock care of Luci and her puppies. I believe we have 3 blue merle girls, 2 tricolor boys, 2 sable merle boys, and 1 sable boy but will verify that info as soon as possible. It may be a few more days before I return to Virginia and my kids are just focusing on puppy and momma care until then. So far all the puppies seem to be healthy and doing great. Luci is also doing great and such a good momma. I will update when I can but for now here is a precious puppy pile and proud momma picture that my sweet daughter sent me this morning.

Introducing a new branch of the farm, “WL Cattle Cove.” Our youngest farm hand, and the “W”of KLW Farm has decided to start his own division of KLW Farm, as he is the new owner of 6 yearling angus heifers. He is excited to begin his new adventures with these heifers along with his little grullo quarter c**t, Maverick. William Lynn, we are so proud of you and excited to watch you and “WL Cattle Cove” grow.

Side note: Will was named after both of his grandfathers by taking their middle names, making his decision to use WL in his farm name a bit more special. We are very thankful that not only Will, but all 3 of our kids are blessed with these 2 exceptional men to have in their lives.

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our youngest farm hand turning 15. He may be the youngest but is one of the hardest working we have on the farm. He’s always more than willing to do whatever is needed. He has a love for the farm life and all things outdoors. Will, we sure hope you had a wonderful 15th birthday 🎉.

KLW Farm has some exciting news to share‼️
❤️ AKC Rough Collie pups due the end of May ❤️
Our sweet sable merle Luci is expecting puppies!
We have the possibility of the traditional “lassie” sable, as well as tricolor, blue merle, and sable merle puppies in this litter.
Luci only carries one copy of CEA and one copy of MDR1 (clear of DM), while Tux is clear, non-carrier for all common collie genetic conditions.

We are excited to introduce Opal to you and welcome this sweet girl to our KLW Farm family. Opal is an AKC Rough Collie. She is a trifactored, white factored sable merle female with clear genetics. We were blessed to welcome her to the farm yesterday and we are so excited to add her to our breeding program. She is settling in great with us! Thank you to the Bowling family for such a sweet girl. Welcome home Opal ❤️

Thankful for warmer temperatures this week so that these 3 were able to be moved to the barn. (Thanks to Layne for helping with their transport 😊). I think they approve of their new living situation.

A Farmer’s Prayer Before the Freeze

Tonight, we ask for mercy in the cold.
For wind that softens its grip,
for temperatures that ease just enough
to let life hold on.

Watch over the animals tucked into straw and wood,
the quiet breaths in barns and coops,
the ones who trust us without words.
Keep them warm where our hands can’t reach.

Bless the fences, the heaters, the water lines,
the lamps glowing through the dark.
Bless the tired hands that checked one more time,
and the hearts that won’t rest until morning.

We’ve done what we can.
Now we place the rest in Your care.
Carry us through the long night,
and let the morning come gentle.
