If you're squeamish about injuries, stay on the first picture. I severely sprained my ankle earlier this week, but I am bound and determined to go out embrace one of my passions. I suited up with my air cast and some really high stiff hiking boots. Had a great day in central New Hampshire. Came home with about 12 oz of chantrelle. The White mountains will be calling my name in a few weeks. Happy foraging season all!

First couple of the year in two separate locations. One in Southern New Hampshire, one in Northern New Hampshire. Both fairly dry. They went excellent on my cheeseburger tonight. Here's to some great rain tomorrow for some great production next week. Happy mushroom season!

Hen of the Woods/Maitake (Grifola Frondosa) season in full swing! Here's hoping tomorrow's rain brings some more of these along with some other wonderful fall edibles like porcini and hedgehog.

Visited another spot for more Violet Boletes (Boletus Separans)! Love a quick 5lb forage! Fresh are for dinner, older one headed to the dehydrator.

voluminous milky - Lactifluus volemus
Frost's Bolete, or Candy Apple Bolete - Exsudoporus frostii
Bi-Color Bolete - Baorangia bicolor (not to be confused with Boletus sensibilis)
Finally - 2 baby chanterelle buttons next to the trumpets
